Decoding The Nest

Has anyone ventured to other boards on TN? I thought I was a smart, saavy person, but I can't decode some of this married people lingo. Even TK wasn't that hard to figure out...

Re: Decoding The Nest

  • Yeah..everything I have seen in either different or "oooh babies"
  • Yeah, I've been having a hard time decoding those acronyms too.  I want to pick a board and lurk for a few months and get into it like I did on TK, but I can't pick one.  They all seem to have different groups of regulars and the topics are so... random?  specific?

What's the difference between Relationships and Married Life.  The best I can figure out so far is that Married Life = P&E

  • What lingo are you having trouble with? For some reason it took me forever to get KU. I was like WTF? My brain didn't think of knocked-up for a long time (possibly because that's not where my life is right now!)
  • speaking of lingo, I've always wondered what the D stands for in front of H as in DH, or DS or DD (son/daughter). Enlightenment please!
  • I believe it stands for darling, or dear.

  • ah, I always thought darling but was never positive. I usually write hubs or hubby  or just H because darling husband sounds so....ick. When I'm in a hurry I'll shorten to DH cause it's quick.
  • I've figured out that BU is blog update...mostly on the cooking board...i also saw STBXH...which i soon figured out was soon to be x-husband on the relationships board...still trying to figure out some of the others..

    ps...whats BSC or BCS?

  • BSC is Bat Shiit Crazy, I believe.  I don't know what BCS is?

Some of it IS really confusing.  I would never call my husband my dear, devoted or darling husband IRL, so I'm thinking I'm going to stick with H on that one.
