Valentines Day?

With Valentines day being next weekend, I was trying to think of some things I could do for DH.

We usually exchange some smaller gifts, and do dinner, but I'm not sure what the plans are for this year.

I was thinking of making a little basket full of DHs favorite treats and then making some coupon cards for things like Backrubs, Favorite Dinner, etc.

Anyone have any other fun ideas?

Re: Valentines Day?

  • This fits your "basket" idea... DH already gave me his v-day present and part of it was a bag of bags of candy.  They're my favorite candies, but in valentine style... Reese's peanut butter cups, heart shaped.  York patties, heart shaped and pink.  Some Dove dark chocolates with "love" sayings inside.  Loved it! :)

  • I love the basket idea! I also like getting tickets to sporting events or wine tastings or something like that. You don't necessarily have to go ON V-day... but just give him tickets on V day and it's something to look forward to.

  • u should do a scavenger hunt. My DH did this for me one year for easter. I got home and there was a note on the front door. It was a little rhyme that gave me my next clue, then i went there and there was another paper with a rhyme. It went on for like 20 minutes and then I found my easter present under the pillow of my bed!! I thought it was so thoughtful and didn't really cost a lot. I don't think I will ever forget it.

I think DH is going to make me dinner for Valentines day and he has a couple of other things up his sleeve that he isn't telling me about. I dunno what I am gonna do for him, I have no money!! He is also doing P90X so he doesnt want me to make him any sweets, which is my specialty! lol I will let u know if I get any more ideas...

  • I really like your basket idea and the coupons! I be my DH would love that, he always wants me to rub his back but never asks me to.

two years ago I made him a little booklet filled with 101 reasons why I loved him. it was fun and he loved it but, my hand hurt from writing.

  • I used to work with this very romantic guy and he bought this really pretty glass jar for his gf.  He wrote things he loved about her on little slips of paper and filled the jar with them. I always thought that was cool.

We aren't doing anything fancy for V Day this year. DH always buys me a gorgeous flower arrangement and I told him he wasn't allowed to this year since we're watching our expenses. Then he asked if he was allowed to make me dinner and I replied of course! (he never cooks).  I will probably get him a sweet card (Hey, now we can go to the section of cards labeled "Husband"!) and I'm thinking of making him chocolate covered strawberries.  They're easy and inexpensive to make and he would love them.
