Today at supper DH was asking what I needed to do this evening. I told him and my list included going to the Liquor Mart for a bottle of wine for my birthday on Sunday. And he looks at me very seriously and says "I've decided that we're not going to drink in this house anymore". He refuses to give me a reason, and I said until he does he can abstain from alcohol all he wants but I am still my own person. We do not drink a lot but I'm just getting a feeling there's something behind this that he doesn't want to say (and my guess is it's his parents) even though he says that there's not any reason. That's just what he's decided.
So because there was no given reason, I still went to the LC and bought myself some wine.
Re: Bizarre DH
That does sound very weird. And, he can decided that HE is not drinking in the house anymore, but since it is your home too, you guys need to agree on such a decision.
The weirder thing is that he won't give you a reason.
So this morning he finally gave me a reason. I guess he had been doing dishes on Thursday morning and "found" that I keep the hard alcohol which is only a couple bottles. At least two of which I've had for a year. Apparently he didn't "know" about them even though they've been there I guess he's never looked in that cupboard.
Now that I know his reasoning is crap I will continue on as I please.
That is very strange.
I wonder what he would think of me? I have at least 10 bottles of wine, half a bottle of vodka, three bottles of rum (DH and I like different kinds so we each need our own and one was bought on vacation) and half a bottle of ready made mojito.
We don't drink a lot so we tend to accumulate a lot since I am incapable of walking into a liquor store without buying a bottle of wine "just in case" or because I like the label. I have an alcohol buying problem
That is the only thing I can think of him being concerned about. Weird behaviour for sure.
