Finally managed to get a pic of the wall I hung the Pottery Barn keys on...what do you think?

Re: PB keys....WDYT?
I think they're too high. If they were lower and over the bookshelf, they might work. You'd have to use fewer though or group them randomly instead of in a straight line. That would give you visual interest and take up a larger area like a piece of iron might!
I find that most people hang things too high in general. About eye levelish is best from what I understand. A little lower is better in a room where people sit often (as opposed to a foyer or pass through hall). That way they don't have to crane their neck up to see it when sitting.
Totally agree.
i agree. if you're going to keep them in a line like that, then i think they need to go in a "skinnier" space. it doesn't look like the tv is flat against the wall (?) or i would suggest hanging them above the tv. if they were mine, i might even consider hanging them in the space above my front door.
eta: or, if you wanted to leave them there, i could see taking down the one on the extreme right and making it the furthest one on the left (or just slide the bookshelf to the right a bit) and hanging some kind of picture or decor underneath to serve as a "bridge" between the keys and the bookshelf.
If you want them in that space, I'd get a big elaborate frame (you can sometimes find open ready-made frames on clearance at Hobby Lobby, or you can buy a framed picture at Goodwill and just use the frame, paint it if need be). You could simply hang the frame around the keys, you could use cork or another lightweight material in the frame and hang the keys from that, or you could paint the wall space inside the empty frame so it looks like the keys are framed, even though the frame itself is empty.
