PMS? Please God, noooooooo

B has had a headache all day.  Now she's saying her stomach hurts.  I'm asking her if she feels pukey sick or crampy, and she doesn't quite know the difference.

I am so not ready for this.  We've had talks, she has supplies, hell, she needs a bra already.  But she's only 10!  (11 in May)  When I said "Well, maybe you're getting your period" she gave me a look like I was speaking deviltalk.

Re: PMS? Please God, noooooooo

  • Oh no!! Sending vibes that it's not AF for her. I'm shuddering at the thought of hormonal 11 year olds for you!

  • I got mine when I was 10. It was MORTIFYING.

I was at school when I got it. I went to the nurse to call my Mom and pick me up. The nurse decided to have a meeting with all of the 5th grade girls to discuss getting you period. She siad" I already had to send one girl home because she got it".

The next day at school was HELL.

Sorry Wendi! I don't think this story really helps.

  • I remember having a special all-girls session with the nurse, I'm pretty sure it was 5th grade.  We watched a movie and the nurse told us to start carrying supplies in a purse "just in case."  So all of a sudden we're all carrying purses.  And we all got to mail in for a special sampler pack of pads that I think every single one of us kept under our beds.  Huh?
  • UGh.....you totally don't need this right now.  Bless her heart.  I hope for both of your sakes that it isnt.  I started when i was ten also with a nightmarish story similar to Bella's.
  • I got mine in the bathroom of the Rainforest Cafe ... ugh.

I hope that old lady AF can hold off for a little while for her! Poor girl ... I would be the same way: "I'm not ready for this!!!"

  • We got the puberty talk in 4th grade...fortunately I didn't start until the summer after 6th grade, so I was 12.  My sisters were 11 and 10, and I've heard of girls starting as early as 8 or 9, yikes!  I sure hope for both your sakes that mother nature holds off on the "gift" (ugh...) a while longer.
  • Mine was the summer of 5th grade...

We had gotten the sample pack of pads and tampons...But as you all know, I shoved all the tampons up the bathroom faucet and then turned it on. LOL.

  • oh nooooo! That is deviltalk. . . I hope it's not true!
  • Oh ick, you don't need this at all Wendi!  Plus what girl is ever ready for AF to come.  I got mine at the young age of 9.  I was in Kmart with my grandma!  I wanted to die because she was all making a scene about it.
  • Oh no!  Hope this isn't it for her!
