As I have posted before, I'm extremely unhappy with my current job. Its been a great opportunity as far as learning new parts of the entire accounting process I've only read about in school for which I am thankful for. However, its come to a point where I feel more and more taken advantage of everyday (still temporary after an entire year, severely underpaid compared to job duties, zero benefits and no holiday pay). I had actually gotten what I thought was going to be good news regarding a raise and the effective date last week. Come to find out, I was misinformed and was extremely bummed.
Fast forward 5 minutes after I found out about the miscommunication about my raise, and I get a phone call (The timing really freaks me out - I picked up my phone to text DH to let him know and it rang before I could even unlock it). It is from an employment agency that I applied with last year when I got laid off from my previous job. I haven't talked to the lady in about 6-9 months or so, but we completely hit it off when I interviewed last January/February. She found out about a position which she is very informed about (she's placed all but 1 person in their accounting/finance office) and still had my old resume on file. She thinks I will be a perfect fit for the position and even took my updated resume with her to a meeting with the company she had today. This will be a great opportunity if it comes through and a permanent position with benefits and WAY better pay!
So if anyone could send some good news about a new job dust my way I would really appreciate it! TIA!
Sorry this turned out so long, but I'm very hopeful and excited about the opportunity.
