snow days

First let me apologize for spelling because I am writing this on my phone. This snow has f'd things up here. My school district is closed today as well as tomorrow and the county has also shut down so DH is not working either. They are also predicting another 6+ tomorrow into Wednesday. It could be Thursday before I go back to work. Normally I would be happy but I don't know if we have to make these days up or not. Rumor has it of you are in a state of emergency the governor can pardon days for school districts. DH is hogging the computer but when he is done I will hope on so I can read all the other updates. And in the meantime of anyone wants so know I'd be happy to FedEx you some!

Re: snow days

  • You can keep all your snow!
  • Was thinking of the gals who were in the 'snow zone' this past weekend!  I wasn't sure I'd make it home yesterday, but was LUCKY.  Where we went (SC near Charlotte) they only had rain.  At home, we had about 6-8" of snow and it was clear, BUT... sounds like we could get 12-16 this week.

Work will be open most  likely... hope you get your 'pardon'! I think the kids went in today out here, but later.  I know my SIL (who is SE of Pittsburg and a teacher) was off today...

    Happy snow day!

  • I will gladly take some snow off your hands!

It going to be 63 today! So I am bundled up! LOL

  • I feel for all you gals out East, no one likes that much snow in one big storm.  We are on winter storm number 28497294867 in the midwest and the schools are already predicting the last day of class will be June 16th!  They are even trying to either extend the school day an hour, start Saturday school, or do away with Spring Break in order to end before June 16th.  And to think, winter isn't even over yet!  Ugh, anyone want to move to Aruba!?!

Heck-I'd go out where Agent is!!! Would love it to even be in the 50's at this point!

  • OOOO I'll take some!! I love seeing snow covering everything, as long as I don't have to drive anywhere in it.

  • I feel your pain.  We got about 28+ inches over the weekend and now they are calling for another 12-18 inches tomorrow night.  I'm so over this snow!

Public schools in Hampton Roads are scheduled to be out June 23 and that's without snow make up days.  I'm so glad I'm not a teacher right now because they'll end up going almost into July!

  • Hopefull you don't have to make up the days and get a few free days with your H. My family snet pics from Pittsburgh and it is beautiful -- from afar of course. I would hate being in it right now.
  • The schools here will be going late...not sure what date they're at now though.  We're supposed to get more snow too.  They keep changing the forecast though, so we'll see what happens.  My car has been plowed in pretty much and is already encased in ice anyway, so I'm not going anywhere any time soon.  What's some more snow on top of that Confused  Enjoy your snow days!
