Anyone shopped at Havertey's?

DH and I are in need of a new couch. We stopped by Furniture Fair, Value City, Haverty's and Ashley Furniture yesterday. We found a couch at Haverty's that we really like but they have AWFUL customer service and quality reviews online so we're a little nervous to be buying from them. For what it's worth the other stores have the 'same' couch but it doesn't come in any other colors besides the green and Haverty's can get it in a couple different colors.

TIA!

Re: Anyone shopped at Havertey's?

  • We bought our bedroom set there 4.5 years ago and I don't recall having any issues with service. The quality of the furniture is superb--best stuff I've had by far. (I have done a lot of shopping at Value City in the past because it was cheap, and it never lasted. The bed I bought at VC actually fell apart--as in the side rails splintered into multiple pieces--during sex once, that was an interesting night!)

I do remember that when we bought the set at Haverty's we thought we'd have to re-stain one of our existing pieces to match it...but when we got the new stuff home it matched our old stuff exactly. So, I think the colors in their showroom are different from what you'll see at home.

  • We bought our couch from them last summer and didn't have any problems.  We love our couch and delivery was fast and as expected.  The couch itself seems to be of excellent quality and is holding up well.  I think the guy we worked with (@ Tri-County) was named John.

FWIW when we were researching, most of the negative comments had to do w/ their warrenty plan...which we didn't get anyway.

  • Bought my bedroom set there about a year ago. Customer service was great. We had to have them come out to fix a one of our drawers of our armoire that wasn't closing right (wood warped or something), and they actually ended up replacing the entire armoire for us.
  • Christine- which couch do you have? I have been looking at a sectional from there but I am really trying to do my homework regarding quality and I want to make sure the cushions hold up. The online reviews are all recent buyers- none that have had the couch for any length of time.

This is the one we've been looking at. Thanks!

Sorry we have a different one.  Ours is the Malibu II.

My Uncle also bought a microfiber sectional from there that is probably 2-3 years old...maybe more.  Still looks fresh and he hosts parties for our big family (30-40 ppl) at least twicea year.  We were just there this weekend for the Super Bowl, actually.
