Long story short, Super Bowl party left a hole in my wall and a couple of the H's friends on my sh*t list.
It just so happens that this hole is on a huge wall that extends down our staircase and into our entry way. Fortunately, I've been needing to pain this area for a long time and I haven't done it yet.
The entryway covers the entire bottom floor of our house (except the closet and laundry room, which are separated by doors - neither of those have been painted). The stairway then goes up to our main level. Our main level is painted primarly in deep earth tones. This is the only example I currently have of our living room color (lol):

The first level is currently a light beige (which I don't love). The only decor we have down on there is a big mirror, with dark brown frame and some vases similar to the first picture, but the color of the second.

If you made it this far... what color should I paint the entryway and stairwell?

Re: What color should I paint my entryway/hallways?
i love blue...but our whole house is shades of blue or white...so not sure that would match?
something like this:
Brit - no way would I trust those guys to paint! I'd probably end up needing new flooring at that point too
Jen - love blue! but it wouldn't fit at all with the rest of the house.

I'm still mad. These guys have never been my favorite, but they still come around now and then since they were some of his first friends when he moved up here. Anyway, they're always into some sort of trouble or causing some sort of damage. To put it nicely, they're careless, immature, and irresponsible.
Anyway, two of them thought it would be fun to wrestle/tackle each other. RIGHT next to the stairway. Hmm... wonder what could possibly go wrong. Yeah. Our stairway has two parts with a landing in the middle and the two stairwells at a 90 degree angle from one another (does that make sense?). Anyway, guess what broke their fall? The wall at the first landing. The hole was a good 20" x 20".

Holy crap, I would be pissed.
Our house are shades of tan and dark brown accent walls.
I would kill them first, then chose a paint color.
Who's patching the giant hole?!
Since you have such deep rich earth tones, what about a rust color (i'm thinking more red than orange), or maybe a green... but I would have to see the warm/cool connection of the other tones to really decide.
I was thinking orange too. Here are pics of my family room. It is Desert Vista by Duron.
~~~MARRIED BIO~~~
who is patching the 20x20 hole!? That's huge! I'd be pissed if you have to redrywall part of it! I vote for just putting a 20x30 picture over it. lol
Just kidding.
I vote for a greenish/sagey color. I like the blue but don't think it would work...hmmm, I live in beige's, a soft yellow room, a blue room and light green kitchen....I like brighter colors though!
Thanks for the laughs!
After pulling out a ruler, I've decided it was more like 15" by 15". Still - I'd rather have zero holes in my wall, tyvm.
If a 20x30 picture were acceptable at knee height, I'd be all over it. lol.
Vik patched the hole today. I totally trust him, but I can be a bit of a perfectionist, so... yeah. I hope it turns out alright.
You ladies have some good ideas. When I get home tonight I'll try to add pictures.
lol, you could do one of just your feet. We have one like that of our dog and our feet, haha!!!
And glad it's was slightly smaller
hehe damn boys.
Those crazy kids!
As for color, I can't remember who, but one of the girls here recently painted a room a clay color. I think that would go well with the rest of the earthy tones as well as add a bit more pop and warmth. Rust was another good suggestion to me.
Man...these guys would be forever on the $hit list! like I would rename the $hit list as them, #1 and #2.
I have sage green in my bedrooms and light safari brown for the rest of the house.
Try using the Digital painter online on Lowes...it's a great way to visualize your colors.
