A girl on my local just posted the story, and quite frankly I find it ridiculous, but I don't want to say anything there because well...you know how locals are....
Story: Girl is very petite and very thin. Girl was put on meds about 2 months ago that made girl gain 15 lbs rapidly. Insensitive asshat at girl's company comments that, "wow, you've really put on some weight recently." Girl gets - understandably - upset and posts on the knot about it.
But then...
Girl goes to President of company and asks that the coworker be fired. Pres disagrees, but makes coworker apologize. Coworker truly apologizes, but girl is still upset that he wasn't fired and is complaining about it on the knot.
Really? Am I crazy, or was this a bit much to expect over someone making ONE incredibly stupid and insenstive comment?
Re: NER - WWYT?
Yeah I think that is totally overreacting.
Reprimand the guy, and certainly consider his record if he's consistently making these comments to people, but for ONE incident???
after 15 years of doing employment law enforcement, nothing surprises me any more...
yes, she's expecting a lot. If this guy has never done anything like this before (esp. to HER) or if nothing like this ever was reported to mgt., he really shouldn't be fired.
with my luck, she'd quit and file a complaint saying she was constructively discharged, and I'd get it to investigate...
I am the 99%.
And then she'd call my office demanding we represent her pro bono.
