i took some photos.
first, the reason for this post:

(note: those are not ALL from last night. just the big one. the hubs went a little crazy 'touching up' the rest of the walls as well. haha.)
here are our current paint colors on our main level (kitchen, living room, dining room):

this is what the rest of our decor looks like on the main level...

when looking toward the stairwell, this is what you see:

(the light beige walls will need to be painted)
this is the first level (all of which will be painted):

and finally, here are some random pieces of art that we have hanging on the wall, which might be nice to draw some colors from:
so, seeing photos - what color would you do?
i like the rust idea, but i'm worried it might be a little too dark for an entryway.

Re: f/u: paint help (and possibly a pip record)
thanks for the tour of your home!
i think i see a green color in those wine paintings....what about pulling out a sage/green color? i think that would work. maybe a green like the box below that has hot topics in it?
and you were right, blue would NOT match at all!
I"m gonna go puke right now on how cute and clean your house looks. Seriously going to go throw up. I have no suggestions because I am now ill.
What a purty home!. I think you should go with a rust/dark burnt orange!
I see some orange in the pics.
Here is what my mom has in her living room and dining room. I think either would work very well. Excuse me in the pic, its the only one I could find quickly with both colors
* Edit * I found one of her staircase color
Excuse the blue lol Mom used to be able to get up there and paint every other year.... but she says she's too old now. Pfff whatever Mom you have more energy then me on a good day ~!
I LOVE YOUR HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really like the color in your dining room!
Thanks for all your help ladies!
I went to Menards today and picked up a bunch of paint color-thingies. I'm currently leaning towards a lighter yellow/gold, but thinking of doing an accent wall - the one that the mirror is on - and doing that in a burnt orange or rust or green. Are accent walls still cool? Should I just keep it all one color?
I have to give the cleaning credit to the H. It wasn't nearly this clean last night!
