What are you excited about this week?

Hello Olympics! I loves them sooo hard. Also, I'm meeting up for brunch with a few local knotties on Saturday - I'm having breakfast poutine! NOM!

Re: What are you excited about this week?

  • I am super excited to go to Florence (Italy) tomorrow.  I've had my fill of Rome.  And, I am really excited to see my husband and my dog on Thursday!  I'll be home just in time for the Olympics, which I'm also super-stoked about.
  • Oh, SO envious! Florence is one of my top ten cities to visit in my life.

Poutine for breakfast, LOVE this!  Olympics, so exciting!  The city is buzzing and I have to say it's incredibly special to be a part of this... Canadian flags e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e :)  I bought myself a Quatchi the other day just because I needed a souvenir of some kind.

  • The Olympic vibe in this city is very contagious! It's been so great meeting people and helping them find there way around town. We just got word that my office (which is right downtown) will be closed at noon Friday for those  who may want to see the "torch" as it arrives at the final destination of BC Place, home of the opening and closing ceremonies. We might also be checking out some of the free open venues around town.

  • I'm very jealous of people in either Vancouver or headed to Florence right now!  Very exciting!

I actually have a quite boring week ahead, as far as Monday-Friday goes.  I'm looking forward to a three-day weekend this coming weekend, though (I'll have Monday off for President's Day).  And MH and I are going out for a nice dinner on Sunday....something we haven't done in months!  I finally have enough of an appetite to warrent filet mignon and key lime pie....yum!

  • I'm excited for the 7 inches of snow we are supposed to get tonight and hope that school is closed tomorrow!  It's so great having kids that are too young to stay home by themselves because then I get a free day off too!   Well not FREE, I still have to use time, but NO explanations needed!
  • We are so stoked to finally get our new mattress. We bought it over a week ago and were supposed to have it Saturday, but it didn't arrive in that shipment so we have to wait until Wednesday. Can't wait can't wait can't wait!!

  • we're still recovering from last weekend's blizzard but i am looking forward to another storm that is coming tomorrow night! haha. that means office will be closed again :-). i love getting snowed in and just spending quality time with DH. also looking forward to the 3 day weekend/Valentines day/Chinese New Year. DH is in charge of vday plans so i can't wait to hear what he has planned. oh, and i just got my new macbook today so i've been playing with it for the last couple of hours :-).
  • poutine?? must go google this! :)

I'm looking forward to staying at home w/my LO this week :) I have the whole week off! trade off is that the following week I am working 4 days...which I know isn't much if you're used to working FT, but i am still getting used to the idea of leaving my baby at home to go to work!!

also - DH's work is hosting a "retreat" locally at a nice hotel where everyone is supposed to get to know each other better... so this weekend we'll get to "get away" a little bit :)  we'll be taking DD with us, but still...it'll be nice.

  • Poutine is amazing - it's Quebecois comfort food in all its calorie laden glory, but soooo good. Fries, gravy and cheese curds. Breakfast poutine at the place I'm going to = home fries, pulled pork, poached egg and chipotle hollondaise.

Ohhh...did you get yours at one of those chip wagon stands? I remember Montreal having them all over...mmm mmm sooo tasty. The west coast has none :(

Jaime...here is a good link to poutine http://www.montrealpoutine.com/

  • I know this will sound pathetic, but I'm stoked that the weekend is one day closer! It's getting SO hard to get through work each day, but I have to make it until the end of the month - so at the end of each day I think, "whew! Another day down and that much closer to the end of the week and the month!"

I'm also excited because even if the nursery paint work is a mess right now (Ben and I went over what needs to be fixed last night, so wish us luck there), it is getting done...and it's exciting to see the changes!

i made nanaimo bars recently and blogged about them :) they were tasty too :)

  • I'm excited that we're one day closer to the 3 day weekend!

  • Yay!  I lurve the Olympics and since I am on leave I can watch all of the random events that are telecast at 2 a.m.  LOL!

I am also cleared to drive now...woot.  Too bad we just got snow. :-/  Libby has a follow-up appt. with her pediatrician this week and I see my own GP later this week too.

  • On Thursday night we're going to the aquarium for a special talk given by an underwater photographer John really really REALLY likes. That should be pretty interesting. Other than that, it's going to be an uneventful week for me. I'm housesitting for my parents and just spending each day hanging out with their dog. =) I may attempt to make truffles for Valentines Day...

  • WOW everyone is having so much fun here =P I'm just working this week. And um...packing. We need to move stuff off to our house (in another state) so that we have enough room for all the baby stuff in the apt.

  • Mmmmm poutine, I miss it!

I WISHHHHH I was in New Orleans right now. NO has always called to me, even when I was a 16 year old kid living in Australia, who had never stepped out of her own country.

Even so, a soft song reached me from there to the shores of here and I followed it's tune, twice. I'll always keep going back to it too.

    YAY SAINTS!!!

Me, I'm looking forward to poppin out a bub sometime this week.
