THANK YOU ALL for your kind words and wishes. I'm sorry about not following up sooner, it's harder than I thought to find time!! I've had visitors out the ying-yang. I'm so gratefull that I'm at my mom's house, the help is amazing - It would have been very hard on my own.
My Birth Story:
Saturday afternoon I started to feel as if I was going to get the flu. Crampy and full body aches + a bad headache. Sunday I took about 4 baths to ease he body aches but again it felt like I was or sure getting the flu.
Monday still not feeling well and slept a lot, I was sleepy all day (as if my body knew). Monday after dinner I felt pangs of pain but here&there. Later at night I tried to sleep but couldn't so I watched t.v. at around 11:30 - I started tracking when they came as it was more often. They started off every 15 min apart and by 4:00am were 7min. [enter in Nest post] They were pretty strong by this point but bareable. When they say "you know..." you DO but only when they get to the closer stages! I just wasn't sure how long it would take for them to get to 5min - the point of calling the hospital.
Miguel got up at 5:30 to go to work and they were between 5-7 min apart and 45-50 seconds long. He was asking me if he should go to work?, is this realy it? etc. So to calm my nerves I called into triage and they told me to come in. We got to the hospital at 6:45am and were admited in at 8:45am.
It was about 10:30am and I was checked - 3cm 90% thinned. My nurse was amazing, she helped me out and was sooooo understanding. By the time it was 12:30pm contrax were 2min apart and at a 50-60 on the "strength level reader". I couldn't bare it...and thinking of how much more I'd have to go...I asked for the epidural and got it within 5 min. What a difference!!!!! I was in heaven. Dr, cecked me again at 1:00pm and I was 6cm (7 during a contrax) and 100%. Miguel turned to me and asked "do you feel that"..."what? am I haveing a contrax?" "uhhh....yes and it's reading off the chart, litteraly 100+" "God bless drugs" hahahaha
Dr. came in again at 4:00pm and checked me again. I was feeling the pressure a lot. She looked at me and said you are one lucky girl...10cm and ready to start pushing! I cried hearing that news..lol At this time I had almost my entire family at the hospital..again thank god for drugs. They wanted to 'show' me how to push and see how well I can do - I pushed 3 times and she told me to stop....I asked why...because you're ready. All of a sudden the room was transformed and was full of medical staff. I started pushing at 4:30pm, 4:45pm we stopped because I had to throw up (second time btw) Dr. came in to see how I was progressing and said "ok - baby will be here in 4 pushes!" and she was born at 5:01pm.
I'm healing so well. I didn't tear and am moving like my old self after one week, I also look like I'm only 4 months pregnant in my tummy- so lucky!!!
What an amazing feeling, I cried right away, she was so beautiful and mine. [I'm crying just thinking of it again] I can't explain how much I love this little girl. Sorry for it being so long but I think I gave you the short story..hahaha
