Valentine's Day

What is everyone doing for Valentine's Day this year? Any fun plans?

The hubs and I are just exchanging cards and making a nice dinner, nothing fancy. Just the two of us and our little pup :)

Re: Valentine's Day

  • We're not huge V-day people- although we did get engaged on Vday- 6 years ago!

We will probably cook a nice dinner and stay in- he is gone the 2 weeks around that weekend so it will be nice to just hang out with him.

  • This might seem silly, but...

I'm buying him Legos. I was just going to knit him socks, but it's a knitting Olympics project, so I can't start knitting them til the 12th, and there's no way I'll even have half a sock by the 14th. And he loves Legos, he was practically drooling over our friends' son's Lego collection.

I'm also baking him a super fancy chocolate cake. And we'll have a nice dinner at home, maybe we'll splurge on a nice bottle of wine.

  • We aren't huge v-day people either, but we were going to use it as an excuse to go to No.9 Park, and were actually going to go tomorrow night to avoid the crowds, but with the snow we're supposed to be getting I think I might cancel our reservation.

  • No idea yet, we usually just make a nice dinner together.

  • Either staying in and doing a fancy dinner at home on the wedding china or going up to NH for the weekend for a totally none romantic weekend at my father's lake house.

  • I plan on being hungover on VDay Big Smile

My birthday is Friday so we're going to Abe and Louie's, then on Saturday my girlfriends are taking me to a dinner and then a drag show! I'll have nothing left in me for Sunday!

  • Surprisingly, my manager actually gave me Valentine's Day off in addition to my normal time off. Big Smile That morning I'm running with DH and a friend of ours. Then we're going to my parents house for brunch. Not sure what we'll do that night. Probably stay in with a bottle of wine and cook.

We made plans to go out Monday night because I hate the V-Day crowds. We're going to Mooo Steakhouse for dinner. I haven't been yet, so I'm wicked excited.

  • We never really do much for v-day. We'll probably just end up making a nice dinner together like last year since we hate going out with all the crowds. We're thinking about going skiing for a day or two in NH the next weekend but we have to see how much homework we can get done ahead of time because we've both been really swamped lately. And I think we're going to go on wednesday to the observatory at BU. DH got a star named after me for my birthday like 4 years ago and we've always wanted to go to an observatory to look for it :) It's in gemini (my bday is in June) so apparently the best time to see it is in February.
