s/o "True-to-size"

Because I'm not sure: What is your definition of "true-to-size"?

For example: the sizes I buy at Old Navy are usually a size smaller than what I would buy at say, Kohls (S/4 vs M/6). Which would be more "true-to-size" in your opinion?

Re: s/o "True-to-size"

  • The smallest size that fits me? Hahahaha just kidding.

I guess it depends on where people shop the most. I do most of my shopping at ON, so I would probably base it on theirs. But if someone else usually shops somewhere else where the sizes run differently, they might say ON clothes aren't true to size since they aren't used to it.

    Did that make sense?

  • I don't have one- vanity sizing has ruined TTS clothing for most of us.
  • I wear a larger size at stores marketed toward younger people than I do at stores marketed toward adults.  I consider the adult store size my "true" size.

  • I think the only true-to-size would be one that is an inch measurement. I do like Old Navy's sizes though since they run big :)

    Yes. Smile

That makes a lot of sense. I'm ashamed to admit that I still buy junior sized jeans because I don't like the way woman's cuts look [on me]. So most of my pants are size 5 (which would be 6 in woman's). I don't shop at Old Navy too often, but like when I fit into a size 4. Smile

  • There must be a difference in cut, since I always find that ON clothes run small on me- pants are 8 at jcrew, ann taylor, banana republic, and 10-12 at ON. I can't shop there, I can't go back to being a 10.

My idea of "true to size" is that at most of the places I get clothes, I'm the same size at each place. I'm sure there are places I don't go where I would be a different size, and juniors clothes never fit me, so I don't bother with them (I'm too big for anything at Forever 21).
