Rec your all-inclusive!

My sister is getting married Feb 2011.  They want to do an all-inclusive resort wedding/honeymoon combo.

Very small. Very intimate. Very very simple.  Very small budget.

Can you recommend your AI honeymoon spot???

TIA!

Re: Rec your all-inclusive!

  • We did Aventura Spa Palace and LOVED it....

Only thing we disliked was that its a lagoon and not a beach, but the other palace resorts have them. Highly reccomend Palace Resorts in Cancun and south areas.

  • We stayed at the Iberostar Tucan in Cancun. We loved it. We booked through Apple Vacations and it was great- we didn't have to worry about a thing. The only thing I wasn't thrilled on was that we could only eat at the special restaurants 3x for a 7 day stay, but you can go up to the restaurant and ask if they have any openings for the night. We did that several times and were able to get sqeezed it all but once. All in all it was a great, affordable honeymoon.

  • we went to the Catalonia Riviera Maya for wedding. It was wonderful for the basic. the wedding they put on was wonderful. There is a small marina close too that you can visit and not have to worry about the dangers outside the resort. I love the Palace resorts, but they get pricey (if you can swing it go that route, they are wonderful for weddings.)

  • We loved Aventura Spa Palace.  We also liked Couples Negril, which I think would probably be more intimate and there is a beautiful beach.

I have stayed at Aventura and would recommend it with out reservations. For our honeymoon we stayed at the Sun Palace. We both really liked it, but not it gets shady there early. I know that sounds odd, but the pool was in the shade around 3:30 and then we would get cold. Our service was great. The beach was clean and nice. The rooms were fantastic. I have pictures of both places if you want to see

  • We went to Aventura Spa Palace as well for our HM....it's just a bit out of budget for my sister.
  • Dreams resorts are very affordable and very nice. I think they would fit the budget. They are in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Check out the various resorts (there are A LOT) because the prices vary a lot, although they will be more affordable than the places mentioned above.

  • We stayed at Couples Tower Isle and loved it! and that was before all the renovations they recently did! Smile

Also, we booked thru honeymoonsinc.com - tell her to check them out. They have a ton of locations, got us a great deal, and had fabulous customer service. We heart them!
  • we booked through a travel agent and did sandals bahamas. it was freaking amazing..only affordable to me though if they are running the 65% off special.
  • We got married at Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica. There are some resort pics in my bio. We LOVED it... and they planned everything for us! The only downside may be is that it is an adult only resort, so the kids are only allowed there for the ceremony. You can PM me on FB and I will give you all the details... also let me know if you need any help planning, I have become an expert at planning DWs :)

  • She should check out the Beach House Villas in Negril. Not an AI, but beautiful place and location. I went to a wedding there and it's very reasonably priced and has an onsite restaraunt that is cheap! Each room has a kitchen as well and there's a grocery very close. The staff did an amazing job on my friends wedding. For budget friendly, this is perfect.
  • Did she check out Sun Palace? I'm not sure how it compares to Aventura- but we love loved our HM there!

Yeah...I've checked out all the Palace Resorts. They're a little over budget for her.  It's also hard to realllly know what the prices are because you can always catch random deals on the AI's.
