family planning

Hey all - there was a book that was discussed but I'm not sure if it was on this board or elsewhere on the Nest... but a lot of people had a lot of good things to say about this one particular book, including that it would be good for sex-ed classes. Anyone remember what it was? Thanks a bunch!!

  • Are you thinking of Taking Charge of Your Fertility??  I've heard that's a great one.  They swear by it on GP

Totally unrelated, but in your siggy, what does that mean? I've been on GP and just don't understand most of what they're talking about. I have been on fertility friend also, but since I just went off BC last month, it can't even predict anything for me. Any advice? I asked the girls over there, but they are so knee-deep in it, they couldn't help much.

My siggy means I'm on Cycle Day 22, 9 days past ovulation.  They do have a completely different language on GP!!  What I did was went off BC, then as soon as I started my 2nd cycle, started charting my basal body temperature (there's a special thermometer you can get anywhere, Target, WalMart, Walgreens, they're about $10).  Every morning take your temp (at about the same time) before you do *anything*.  The overall pattern of your temperatures will show you if and when you're ovulating.  It took me that first month of charting to kind of navigate my way through it and figure out what was going on and when.  The second cycle of charting is much easier, you can kind of get an idea of when to expect ovulation and when to time everything.  The tutorials that Fertility Friend will send you are very helpful, I highly recommend using their site and lessons.  GL with everything!! If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me!! (I hate clogging up this board with BR posts, I know not everyone is at that point yet ... so I'm sorry ladies!!)
