I made two batches of the brownies on Sunday since we had guests coming over. I made one batch with the hazlenut extract (which is super expensive) and one batch without (trying to conserve the extract) and using extra vanilla, and they were DELICIOUS!
I had to make DH take the leftovers to work so that I wouldn't eat them all! DH and I could not tell the difference really between the ones with the hazelnut extract and the ones without. It was a very subtle taste, so you are not missing out on anything.
I HIGHLY recommend this recipe to any nutella lover. At first I was kind of nervous because of the texture, but they are AMAZING! Thank you! This is now one of my top recipes!

Yay! I'm so glad you liked them! I was a little unsure when I first made them too.......the texture being what it is for a brownie....but they really are amazing! My sister just asked me last weekend when I was making them for her again....they are her favourite. I'm glad I'm not missing anything with the hazelnut extract since I can't find any anywhere.
