I think I might be crazy

So, I just got my nails done (acrylic fill and polish) and I have been considering stopping the process.  I have been getting my nails done for about 15 or so years and I am just not into taking the time to do it anymore.

I love the outcome, but it bothers me that I am basically putting chemicals on my body.

I cut out "fake" sugars and most chemicals that I put in my body (ie: food) and on my body (ie: makeup and shampoos that are natural), so why is it okay to put chemicals on my nails?

Le sigh.

Re: I think I might be crazy

  • Do it! Do it!  I got tips and fills for about 5 years straight.  I've been "tip free" for about 5 years now, and looking back, I can't believe that I did it for so long!

  • Once I had my first baby, I got crazy about not using any chemicals in the house or on my body.  I totally cut out nail polish, and I just bought some natural polishes.  The one I have is Zoya brand, but there are others out there.  Aside from acrylic nails, can you bring a natural polish to a salon and request they do your nails with it?
  • I wear my nails short anyhow, so I don't feel the need for the acrylics.  I am going acrylic free after our cruise!

  • you have to check out zoya!  try a few shades, you can look on their site or ebay.
