We are looking to put B into a convertible (rear facing) carseat as he is looking uncomfortable in his infant seat (and it 3lbs away from the max).
Does anyone have the links to the Canadian safety ratings? Google is not being any help today.
It also seems like they only allow you to keep them rear facing until 30lbs. What is up with that?
Re: Car Seats
here is a great site:
http://www.car-seat.org/forumdisplay.php?f=17
I googled "Canadian Safety Agency) and found:
http://www.csa.ca/cm/ca/en/consumers
which led to http://www.safekidscanada.ca/safekidsCanada/
and http://guest.cvent.com/SURVEYS/Welcome.aspx?s=aea8a322-0a5a-4f23-ba28-a5363cdc9452 to request resources (not sure what, I stopped clicking)
But under Public Policy I found http://www.safekidscanada.ca/SKCPublicPolicyAdvocacy/section.asp?s=Child+Passenger+Safety&sID=15073 which has other links that may be what you're looking for?
Most do only RF til 30 pounds, but once Ben starts moving around, his weight gain will slow. DS moved out of his infant carrier at 5 months, and now at 17 months still only weighs 22 pounds or so. We just recently switched him to FF because I couldn't get him into the car anymore.(stupid belly)
We have a Britax marathon and are quite happy with it.
There is a few; I have been looking into this and have yet to find anything bed...{if you do please share}
I have this one too, specifically because of the higher rear-facing limit.
