Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

This isn't good... Update things are worse
We got an email yesterday from the big boss that said that we have a mandatory meeting today with an annoucement that will affect our entire department.
This morning they started letting people go. One person was being walked out as I walked in. It is so horrible because you get no warning. They just call you in and then watch over you as you box your stuff and then escort you out. This is why I have very little personal stuff in my office. You come in thinking it is a normal day and then bam.
I think I am ok for now as I am the only person who works with the system I'm responsible for. But not sure what the future will be. I'm guessing the announcement will be plans for outsourcing.
Please send "job keeping" vibes my way if you can spare them.
Update - Shiiit we are being outsourced. We have about 3 months while the transition happens. So much for thinking that I'll be ok. I'm leaving early to absorb the news. I have to go home and tell my DH.

Oh how scary. That happened three times last year and luckily the only person in my office that was affected had already turned in her notice.
