After reading your response to my response below, I started browsing through your married bio... I live in St. Louis too! :)  Where was your wedding?  It looked gorgeous outside!  Our wedding was on the same day, but in northern IL (where DH is from) and it SNOWED!

Also, I love my OBGYN - if you're ever thinking of switching from the feminist, I highly recommend her!  Haha!

  • Actually, I grew up in Belleville, IL and now DH and I live in Edwardsville, IL.  But hopefully we'll be able to buy a huse in the next couple of years and we'll most likely move to STL or a suburb on the MO side of the river.

We had our wedding ceremony in Lafayette Park in Lafayette Square.  It's just south of downtown and we fell in love with that neighborhood because it's like a mini Paris inside of St. Louis. The reception was at Morgan Street Brewery on the Landing.  We lucked out with the weather- the day before in STL it poured down rain ALL day long and in the afternoon the temp dropped from the mid 60's down to the upper 30's and it got super windy. It was horrible- I was scared to death we would end up having to move the ceremony inside.  That's crazy that you got snow- who would guess that in early October?

Is your OBGYN in St. Louis?  You mind me asking her name?  If we end up moving to STL I'll most likely switch doctors in a couple years anyways.  I'll keep her in mind.

  • Love it!  I have a friend/co-worker (BM in my wedding) who lives in Belleville!  Well, her house is in Swansea, but close enough!

Lafayette Park is so cute!  You really did luck out on the weather that day!  Our day got a lot better in the afternoon for pictures, but you can definitely see snowflakes in some of our first pictures that were taken that day.  I think it's kind of cool though - some pictures make it look like it was winter, some look very fall-ish, and some are bright and sunny like summer. :)

I hope you CAN come over to the MO side... it's better here, haha!  We lived in the city for a few years (right by Forest Park) and we just moved out to Creve Coeur last summer.  I really loved the city apartment, but I would recommend where we are now too.

My OBGYN is actually around Creve Coeur, but not hard to get to.  I actually started going there before I moved to Creve Coeur - just a crazy coincidence, I guess!  Her name is Dr. Holly Kodner and she works with a few other OBGYNs at Balanced Care for Women.  I picked her because on my insurance page, it showed when she graduated and her gender.  (call me biased, but I wanted a young female).  She's great. :)

  • I looked at all your pics back when you posted your photo gallery  and I would never have guessed that it was so cold that day!  Your poor bridal party though... I'm sure they weren't too happy when it was snowing!

LOL my DH works in Creve Coeur at Monsanto.  He has a few coworkers that are buying homes in a new development out near Wentzville, and he keeps trying to talk me into moving out there.  The houses are pretty inexpensive for what you get, but I'm not sure I want to move all the way out there.  Technically it's in Wentzville city limits but if you look at a map the development is even further to the west, closer to Wright City.  That's WAY out of St. Louis.  I think I would prefer to look more in the area of west Florissant or Hazelwood.  But that's not for a couple more years...

Thanks for the recommend on your doctor! I will definitely keep her in mind.  My OBGYN doesn't deliver babies anymore so I'll have to look for a new one once we start TTC anyway.
