duke_girl

so you had everything else changed over to your married name, except your passport? No one ever asked to see your ID in addition to passport?

Re: duke_girl

  • Yep, I have pretty much everything else in my married name- credit cards, driver's license, etc. I booked the cruise in my maiden name, and used my passport (which still had/has my maiden name) as identification. Your passport can be used as identification, so if anyone asks you for identification for some reason, you can just show your passport. If you were using your credit card for something (for example to pay for something at a port of call) and you were asked to show ID you could show your driver's license, which would match your credit card. It is a little bit of a hassle, but less of a hassle than either going without a passport, or trying to get your new passport in time. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  • thanks! I never thought of being able to use the old passport, but I went ahead and booked under my maiden name and just used my DH's info for payment so I won't have to worry about that. I'm a worry wart so I'll bring my license and marriage certificate just in case anything major happens while we are on the boat.

yay, so excited to get things booked :)

  • Yeah, as long as the old passport isn't expired, then I think you're good to go. (I was, at least!) Mine doesn't expire until 2014 I think, so I may just wait until then to get it changed.

Hope you have a great time on the cruise! Sounds fun!
