So without giving away the ending, does anyone know if this movie is a "typical" Nicholas Sparks movie where the love story is great but then it has some awful, sad thing that happens in the end? (ie Nights in Rodanthe)
I LOVE good love stories, but the ones that end in tradegy just kill me. I still sob like a crazy lady at the end of Titanic.
Thought? Because DH and I might go see a movie tonight, but I don't know that I have sad in me.

Re: Dear John
All I will say is don't go in expecting the Notebook, Nights of Rodanthe, or the Titantic.
story goes.
ETA: As far as the main
You will cry however.
I personally didnt really like the ending of the book (if I recall, I read a bunch of Nicholas Sparks books in a row so they kinda mesh together but from what I recall I was annoyed w/ the ending haha) so maybe they came up w/ something better for the movie
the way things ended sorta pissed me off, but overall - it's worth going to see. The two main characters have amazing chemistry.
