I'm going to visit my BFF in Cali who is going threw a pretty tough divorce.
Whoa plane changes. I used to be able to get out there for $300-$400 round trip with one stop. Now......more like double that with multiple stops...the average is TWO STOPS. Whoa!
So glad there is Southwest. I have never flown on it but am totally booking with them. Cheaper flights and more options for one stop.
Took 2 years & 8 months to make our baby!

Re: Plane tickets - whoa
I just came back from Denver and I flew Southwest. This was the first time I flew with them and it wasn't bad (and we had to deal with the delays from the storm last weekend)
I would def. fly them again. There arn't assigned seats, it goes by sections. I liked it.
Your prices will change if your dates are flexible and I have heard that it is generally cheaper to purchase on Wednesday nights. I have no idea why but that is the rumor. I like kayak.com for searching but I am sure that their might be others that are better. I know that they have a fare watcher program.
My brother has had some luck with Priceline but you don't really get to pick your schedule.
My SIL is always finding deals I will ask her what sites she frequents.
