Thank you snow storm IN THE SOUTH for cancelling our flights and RUINING our weekend! I wasn't looking forward to going to Savannah AT ALL....especially the whole GOING TO THE BEACH part. GRRRRRR!!!

I suppose you guys could brew up some sweet tea, rent The Legend of Bagger Vance, and talk in those sugary Savannah accents for the weekend....

Aw, that is really disappointing Did you at least get reimbursed or credits you can use later? It would be even worse if those flights were just wasted.

What is with all these storms in the South this year? DH and I tried to go down to NC last weekend to schmooze alumni connections and look at apartments, but couldn't make it past Baltimore. I'm not sure I want to make the move with all these freakish snow. We're getting less of it in Maine!

ohhh, that totally stinks. I'm sorry to hear that your stuff is cancelled and really hope that you get to reschedule. I spent a very small amount of time in Savannah a few years ago and want to go back when I can devote some real time to exploring (I was there for work). Best of luck to you and I hope that you and hubby are able to find something equally romantic to do at home. Okay so maybe not equally romantic but maybe cool nonetheless.

That sucks friend! They aren't flying anyone to the South at all for the entire weekend?? Did you get a full refund? I second the idea of getting a fancy hotel room or even staying at a local bed and breakfast.

Oh that stinks. Savannah is great, but snow storm here in georgia is not really happening right now. It's just cold not snow like they have said, well not yet anyway.

Aww that sucks! I am so sorry that happened! I agree that you guys should go out to a fancy dinner and get a hotel some where local. I hope your weekend turns out ok

Thanks ladies! Talk about bummed... LOL Karen...I've never seen that movie! lol.... I'm so pissed I may just go out and BUY a jacuzzi....think they have some at Weekends Only for really cheap?!?!?! Big Smile

I really like the movie. I'm not a huge Matt Damon fan, but he's okay in the movie. Besides, it's set in Savannah, so there ya go.

Can you check travelocity for last minute hotel / vacational ideas? Often they'll almost give away last minute deals.

DH said they cancelled flights because the airlines didn't want to have all of those airplanes stuck and the rest of their operations would have been effected....(My Dh is an airline pilot...) SOUNDS DUMB TO ME!

We could check travelocity but I just have a hard time staying in a hotel that is driving distance from my house. We are going to go to the Zoo today and some new antique shops tomorrow. Not Savannah....but I just want to get out of the house. My mom said she would take me to see Dear John tomorrow. I just think that movie looks so cute....
