Re: ?Mamas & Mamas to Be: Weekly Check-in?
Yay, my first poll, thanks for adding me to the list
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? 11 weeks, 2 days
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? Still feeling great, no morning sickness to speak of, just major fatigue/low energy, I hope this passes soon
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? Feb 23rd I will have a pre-natal physical and we will hear the heartbeat. A ways off... April 8th we will find out the sex (if we decide to go ahead and find out).
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips? Tempting
My work slacks feel too tight but I am still wearing several pairs of jeans that were once a bit big, I still feel a bit too casual in them though.
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)? Hmm, I haven't quite let myself think this far ahead yet.
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet? Just worrying some in general, wanting to hear the heartbeat and make sure everything is progressing normally.
I love Hawaii!

(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?
33 weeks, 1 day
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Getting more and more excited for the LO's arrival. I feel like I'm starting to puff up (fat? bloat?), though, which is not really a fun experience.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
Next week. I so wish we could have another 3D ultrasound because the in-office ones just don't compare. We couldn't make out anything last week!
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips?
I bought some looser tops beginning around 3 months. I still shop in the regular clothes section and just buy up a size or two. Most of my clothes came from Ross', but I also liked the tank tops from Old Navy because I could get those in long sizes, which cover my big belly. I had to buy a lot of new tops, but I've been able to get by with some of my regular jeans and bottoms thanks to the belly band. Maternity clothes just don't work for me - I haven't found any well made for petites and smaller gals.
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)?
I'm going to buy everything from my registry if they're not gifted to us first. They're all mostly basics. I am really looking forward to using the slings (Moby, Balboa, and Ergo) and our Baby Jogger stroller.
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet?
I was really scared of giving birth, but now I'm getting more excited and feeling more confident. Childbirth classes have helped... and the growing, kicking baby motivates me to stay positive, too.
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?
39w5d
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Feeling like my uterus is teasing me! I lost my MP on Friday night. Saturday I had mild, painless contractions 10 min apart for most of the night, only to wake up to nothing. Had bloody show yesterday morning and started having contractions that were like menstrual cramps. Woke up to the same mild cramping. Every night I go to bed hoping to wake up in full blown labor, but no such luck yet.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
Friday. Hoping I don't make it till then, but if I do, I'm going to pick an induction date.
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips?
I bought some jeans at about 20 weeks because GAP had a sale. Their jeans are actually good for petites because they have the ankle length and they're pretty slim fitting. I definitely recommend getting the full panel, though. I bought the demi panel and it's pretty uncomfortable because the band is really thick and doesn't stretch much. Otherwise, I only bought a few plain tops from Target. Since I wear scrubs to work, I don't need work clothes. I pretty much just wear the same few outfits every day.
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)?
There wasn't a ton of stuff on our registry that I HAD to have because all the things I really really wanted/needed I just bought myself.
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet?
Just the fact that my two friends already delivered and were due a week and two weeks after me...I had a major meltdown the other night.
Sandy, don't forget to add the bonus PIP at the bottom for belly and baby pics
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?
she will be 13 wks old on Thurs and 3 months old on Friday!
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
little A set an all time record for uninterrupted sleep last night - almost 10 hours
I have also just discovered that if it is nap time, I can put her in her crib and she will fall asleep on her own! I still like to lay her against my chest and hold her until she falls asleep most of the time (they're only this young for so long!) but it is also nice to have another option.... plus this makes me feel better about leaving her to go to work.
she has been hitting all sorts of milestones lately...she started batting/touching her toys on her play mat, and she is laughing more and more every day. I love that she talks to us when we talk to her now, too. her biggest milestone was today, actually... she was able to sit momentarily w/o support for 10 seconds!
you can see a huge difference in her back muscle strength and coordination skills if you watch the video of her from 4 days ago vs the one from today.
ETA: almost forgot to mention ...i'm back to my pre-PG weight! yay
BF'ing really helped me lose the 33.5lbs I gained. too bad my belly looks nothing like it used to....need to work to strengthen and tone it now
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
4 months - vaccines
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips?
I started outgrowing my pants around 12 weeks... luckily I was able to just start wearing scrubs, so I didn't have a whole bunch of maternity clothes. I had a pair of black gauchos, a black flow-y knee length skirt, and maternity jeans. For tops I was able to wear a lot of my existing tops b/c they are super stretchy. I think I bought a total of 3 maternity tops that I wore. It was only during those last few weeks that I wasn't able to wear my regular tops anymore and had to rotate through my maternity tops exclusively. But, that was mostly b/c I was in scrubs all the time or PJs at home and only had to wear maternity clothes when going out
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)?
Fisher Price Little Lamb Swing - got it off craigslist though for $65
Tiny Love gymini play mat - also got it off CL for $20
high chair - haven't gotten one yet, though, since we don't need one right away
car seat - can't go w/o one
everything else was just nice to have but not necessary
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet?
the whole PG, i felt like i was freaking out that we were going to have a baby
seemed surreal and makes me feel old. i feel like i am still 22 or something and not old enough to have a family!
(7) For TTCers: Which cycle are you on? Where in the cycle are you? What, if anything, are you doing to have success TTCing?
(8) For mommies: How long before you went back to work? What all went into your decision on how long to stay out?
12 weeks, pretty standard. partly based on how long i felt it would take to get adjusted, how long i wanted to stay with her, and how long we could afford for me to be on unpaid leave.

Sorry, just added it!
My LO is starting to do this too - but not staying up, just trying to move forward using his head - I can't believe how heavy it seems his head is anymore!
ditto on this!
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?
he is 3 months old today!
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
I'm still tired! Then again, with the amount of blood I'm losing (see TMI post), I shouldn't be surprised.
I didn't realize what he was doing, but after reading Jaime's answers, he's trying to sit! And I love how he babbles at us in the morning after he eats. He's just a big talker! Wish we could understand him! Also, he's started playing in his jumperoo a little bit at a time, while he can hold his head up!
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
He was supposed to have one tomorrow, but because of the weather, we're moving it to Monday - mainly a reflux checkup with weight update to see if we need to increase dose of meds.
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips?
I managed to get away with regular clothes until about 16-18 weeks, but I was big to start with. Loved Motherhood Maternity, although I hate their return policy. Old Navy has some good basics online, but you can't try them on, which makes it hard. Target is supposed to be good, but the one around me had a very small selection.
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)?
I really wanted the crib (but that wasn't on the registry), the mobile for the crib (Philly Phanatic one that plays "take me out to the ballgame"!), and the playmat. I was pretty excited about the jumperoo too!
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet?
See previous post - was freaking out most of the time just in disbelief that we were actually having a baby!
(8) For mommies: How long before you went back to work? What all went into your decision on how long to stay out?
I started back PT about 10 weeks, gradually easing myself in. Mainly I wanted to ease myself into full work days after getting so little sleep, and also ease DH into having the baby longer periods each day so that he could be more comfortable with daddy daycare! However, I also wanted to make sure I didn't burn up all my leave so that I could take him to dr's appts and whatnot, and maybe even a vacation someday!

(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? 38 weeks
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? besides the Pre-e diagnosis I'm doing fine. I'm at home from here on out, just resting and hoping for labor to start. I have acupuncture scheduled everyday this week - starting tomorrow - with a practitioner that specializes in women's health, including pregnancy issues/induction.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? I'm a regular at the office these days. I have to go in every 2 days for monitoring.
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips? I think I started wearing mat. jeans super early - 13 weeks. They were not totally necessary but so much more comfortable and attractive than stuffing myself in my regular jeans. I love all the mat. clothes from the gap.
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)? ergo baby carrier, BOB stroller, cool/plain looking highchair (will need to buy the highchair myself)
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet? not really, the pre-e hit me out of nowhere, but I still wasn't freaking out. I'm excited for labor and hope it starts naturally.
(8) For mommies: How long before you went back to work? What all went into your decision on how long to stay out? just doing the 12 weeks FMLA - it will start tolling next week I think.
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?
39 weeks, 3 days. Maya is 2 years, 5 mths.
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Short of breath and huge. Just came back from appointment and bubs head is engaged (DOWN, yay!). Doc says he/she is going to be a 'good sized baby' meaning on the largish side. I still say in the 8 lb region, MAYBE upper region of 8 lbs lol.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
Next Wednesday, which will be my 41 weeks app. Pretty sure I won't be making that appointment.
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips?
I only bought a couple of maternity items, clothes-wise. I wanted to buy more but we're watching our budget big time. I also just bought a couple of stretchy, flowy dresses (non maternity) from Target.
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)?
Don't have a registry. I wanted the Little Lamb swing (Jaime mentioned it in her post) so we bought that.
I also wanted a Hushamok Hammock for baby to sleep in (instead of a bassinette) but ended up hiring an Amby Baby from a local hire place here (couldn't find any hire companies who hired out Hushamoks).
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet?
Not really. I did get a little guarded and worried when the doc started talking C-section at my 37 week appointment because bubs was head up at the time.
(8) For mommies: How long before you went back to work? What all went into your decision on how long to stay out?
I haven't returned to work since I left it when I was 37 weeks pregnant with Maya. We did the calculations and worked out that, after fulltime childcare costs, I was only going to be left with a couple of hundred in my weekly pay. That's working 8am - 5:30pm Mon-Fri. It wasn't worth the sacrifices, in my eyes and heart.
I am at the very beginning stages of starting my own photography business and will be going back to getting it up and running once everything settles down after bubs arrival.
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?
Libby is 2 weeks and 1 day old.
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
Feeling pretty good. I am down 35 lbs since Libby's birth day. That makes me 15 lbs. lighter than I was when we TTC and 5 lbs away from my wedding day weight. It's a great jump start...I want to lose at least 60 more lbs. 80 would be awesome and put me at my ultimate goal.
That said, did have a scary episode at the grocery store last Friday...started to feel "funny" while shopping (first time out, driving since L&D and all by myself with Libby). I don't know if I had a panic attack or what. I got home (grocery store is literally across and down the street from our home) and my blood pressure was sky high. I put Libby in her crib and laid down. Then my BP went back to normal. I was home alone and that freaked me out too.
The next day, J was just about out the door to work and I had another weird issue...extreme pain in my upper right quadrant. It felt like a hot poker stabbing me between my shoulder blade through to my ribs! Joseph has had gall bladder issues and said that's what it feels like. I felt nauseaus and faint. It lasted about 15 minutes then I started belching like crazy and it subsided. It reminded me of the "funny" feeling I had the day before in the grocery store.
So I will see my GP on Thursday to check out my Gall Bladder. Sometimes pregnancy can bring on gall bladder issues like gall stones and I have several indicators that this might be the case.
As for Libby...she's nursing like a champ...gaining weight, I'd bet she's close to 10 lbs! We see the pediatrician tomorrow. She's outgrown her NB clothes. She's smiled at us and can hold up her head. She's also sleeping longer stretches of 2.5-3.5 hours at a time between feedings.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
Pedi appt. tomorrow...I see my GP on Thursday.
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips?
I actually bought some from eBay while I was TTC! Being a size 2x and needing professional attire I was combing eBay for good deals on things from Motherhood, etc. 90% of my maternity wardrobe was secondhand...I bought two new pairs of jeans, a few pairs of legging and some t-shirts. The rest was consignment or eBay. And I did wear many of my pre-preg clothes well into the third tri.
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)?
Really want the fabric woodland decals from Etsy. We bought the Angelcare Sound/Movement Monitor ourselves since no one purchased it for us.
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet?
OMG...when was I not freaked out. Freaked out when we decided to TTC, when we were TTC, once I got PG, towards the end of my PG and now, of course that Libby is here...there's more to freak out about. When she sleeping I check on her breathing every 30 minutes. I cannot help it. And just this week she's started spitting up and also sometimes milk comes out of her nose when we're burping her. Good thing we see her doctor tomorrow! I guess I am just a nervous new mommy.
(7) For TTCers: Which cycle are you on? Where in the cycle are you? What, if anything, are you doing to have success TTCing?
(8) For mommies: How long before you went back to work? What all went into your decision on how long to stay out?
I'll be home fulltime for 10 weeks and then slowly transition back to full time at the office over the following 8 weeks. So not 100% full time until June. I want to be home with Libby as long as possible...also J has school through May and the goal was to divide childcare duties during the day until he is done with the semester.
BONUS: PIP of your bump or LO or for TTCers...link to your chart!
Libby's favorite place to be...skin2skin on Mommy in her baby wrap carrier!

(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?
I'm 26wks along.
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?
I'm feeling still nauseous at night and sometimes if the smell from cooking dinner seeps into our room, I can't sleep all night because I'm feeling sick =( Eating out everyday is getting really expensive though =/
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?
In about a month. I have my glucose test that I'm supposed to go to the lab and do between last week and next week, but I'm dreading it so I'm procrastinating it for now =P
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips?
I started buying some in Jan because I wanted to take advantage of the post-Christmas/NY sale. I've been going to Motherhood Maternity. I still like wearing my pre-pg pants more with the BellaBand because I have to keep pulling my pants up when I wear maternity ones. But the maternity shirts are great because they're long enough that I don't have to worry about my BellaBand color matching my outfit or shifting up and revealing the bottom of my opened zipper on my pre-pg pants.
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)?
The Ergo carrier, the crib mattress, changing pad & cover.
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet?
Not really, I don't think...just normal small worries here and there about baby being okay and dreading the glucose test, but that's about it.
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? 28 weeks, 2 days
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? I'm feeling...kind of over it, I guess. Which is probably a bad thing considering I still have at least 8 weeks to go, but if you've had a baby, you know what I mean. I'm nearly the size of a singleton at 40 weeks, and by that point you're just physically over it. I'm kind of dreading the next two months (although at least I'm leaving work in 2.5 weeks so that will probably help).
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? Feb 15, just a check-up. I meet with the super high risk specialist on Feb 26 (don't actually need him, it's more of a meet and greet kind of thing) and apparently he has some kind of super swanky ultrasound machine, so I'll probably get a scan on that.
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips? Oh god, don't ask me about maternity clothes. There is NO maternity clothing shopping in my town, and virtually no online shopping in Australia. Finding clothes has been one big long miserable saga and I'll be glad when it's over.
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)? Well, Australia doesn't really do baby registries. I have set up one at Amazon, but it's really just for me to keep track of stuff - not for anyone else to see, let alone buy from. Out of the stuff on that list...probably the Medela breast pump, the crib bedding and the diaper bag.
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet? Does the bad paint job in the nursery count lol? And I kinda freaked out when I found out we were having twins.
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? I'm feeling okay. I've been having some mild/moderate cramping lately, which the doctor chalked up to round ligament pain. Nothing too major, but it does hurt quite a bit sometimes.
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? March 4th....the big ultrasound....finding out the gender!!!
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips? I bought a few things after Christmas (about 11 weeks) because I had gotten a GC as a gift and there were good sales. But I didn't really start wearing much of it until this past week. I am wearing the pants now, but don't really need to on the shirts yet. I'm at the point that I want to start showing a little more already (which I know I'll regret later!) I've been shopping at Motherhood for a few shirts, a dress, and mostly pants (they carry tall maternity pants which are hard to find), and Target for some shirts and a dress.
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)? Haven't registered yet. But will definitely buy the stroller. In fact, we may just buy it in the next few weeks because a local boutique store offered us a deal (not any cheaper, but she said she'd throw in the car seat adapter for free and they deliver and assemble for you at your home for free, too). We're going to get all our furniture next month.
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet? I have freaked out just a little a few times about the whole concept....does that count?!
Linky please!
TTC/PG Blog | Mommy Blog
It's cooling down a bit, but it's still fairly warm - and I'm still wearing short sleeved shirts and maternity jeans every day because the kids keep my temp so high lol.
Linky here - it's really not very exciting lol. That said, if you have any feedback on any of the items (whether there are better ones out there, etc.) let me know!
(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? 10 weeks on Friday
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? Feeling okay...still battling some nausea & the occasional pukey. Milestones - had first dr appt & u/s last week. Baby looked healthy & he/she even wiggled a bit for us!
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? March 4 - just checkup
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips? haven't bought mat clothes yet...I am hoping I can wait until it warms up so I won't need two different seasons of mat clothes.
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)? haven't even started thinking about baby items & registry yet!
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet? I am really freaked out about the whole birthing process. I was REALLY scared in the very beginning but my fears have eased up a lot since then.
(8) For mommies: How long before you went back to work? What all went into your decision on how long to stay out? just 12 weeks of FMLA for me...I wish there was more, but that is all my office will allow. They actually really encourage 6 weeks
and got official EDD - Sept 9, 2010
Coolio! I plan to send a little sumthin' sumthin' this coming week!

(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? ok but I seem more tired now than I did in 1st tri
(3) Next appointment date? Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? Feb 23-another u/c to check problems from before
(4) How long before you bought maternity clothes? What was your favorite store? Any tips? I think I bought my 1st pair of jeans around 14w but it was a few more weeks before I wore them. Mostly I have bought stuff from motherhood, sears or old navy. I did buy some shirts in larger sizes from target at around 8 weeks just to hide my pooch
(5) What are the top 3-5 items you REALLY want from your registry (you?ll buy it yourself if no one else does)? still trying to compile my registry...we are going over to BRU this weekend to try out strollers and such
(6) Have you freaked out about anything yet? Not really except the whole fertility issues and just a little worried after my last scan
(8) For mommies: How long before you went back to work? What all went into your decision on how long to stay out? with work being really slow and company doesn't fall under FMLA (too small) so I will only get my 1 wk vacation paid and the rest will be nothing. But I think my boss (aka my BIL) feels sorry for me so I think I am going to be "laid off" starting the beginning of June
FWIW, I never felt anything but tired my entire pregnancy. I didn't get that 2nd trimester boost I was waiting for.
Me either. I kept waiting and waiting and waiting for this miraculous energy boost that I'd read about, but nada.
