How do you sleep?

Cause lately, I have been sleeping like crap. We bought a new mattress 3 years ago that is a euro top (not quite pillow, not quite flat). But it is now sagging in the middle thanks to the insane amount of snuggling the mister and I do each night apparently. I have to hold onto the sides of I roll into the middle. Not cool. So recommend your mattress to me and why it's great, cause I need a new one. TIA

Re: How do you sleep?

  • Bwhahaha, I'm sorry to laugh at your misfortune, but that's a hilarious visual of you clutching the side. And I got stuck "awww"ing at the "insane amount of snuggling" you do. My H and I sleep on the edges with our faces to the outside.

  • We just got a Kingsdown Sleep to Live (we chose the 1000 series) last month and it is a-mazing. They are pricey, but they have a lifetime warranty. I'm a terrible sleeper and this mattress is my new bff.

  • We bought a Cal Kind Tempurpedic about 5 years ago. It's still good as new and I sleep like a baby! It was pricey, but there's an amazing 20 year warranty. If it compresses even 1/4", they replace it. If it tears, they replace it. If it stains, they replace it. I sleep like a baby every single night.
  • Can I just say that I am jealous you all you good sleepers. I think my weekend plans now involve looking at new mattresses. Thanks for the suggestions.
  • I bought a cheap-ish mattress about 5 years ago when I moved into my house (I think it was around $500 for a queen) and it also has the starting to sag in the middle problem.  I still sleep pretty well becuase its still really comfy but I definitely slide toward the middle.  I wake up because I get hot cause I'm too close to DH and move back to the outside... its a repetitive process that happens about 3 times a night.  Maybe that's not sleeping well... I dont know, I've always been a light sleeper.  We're planning on buying a new king size after we move.

  • Before we went on the honeymoon we had a full and granted it was tight quarters it was still bigger than my twin. After the honeymoon and sleeping in kings/queens I slept in our bed for 3 nights before we went shopping.  When I started looking at mattresses there are a lot of things to look for.

-Coil count, gauge of wire, is it a kind you can flip unside down (ie pillowtop on top and bottom).  We ended up getting ours from a place that makes/sells them. It's called the Original Mattress Factory...not sure if they are regional.  Good price and great mattress.

  • Featherbed on top of the mattress.  Feels like floating on a cloud.

I miss my featherbed like crazy... DH biitched constantly about it when we were dating and I finally took it off because he claimed he was developing back problems from sleeping on such a soft bed.

  • All my life I've slept on Sealy Posturepedic mattresses. I've just never tried anything else. But I love it and I've never had problems with sleeping.

  • We just got this 2 weeks ago.  In a king.

It's part of their luxury estate collection.  The place we shopped the model was called "Governor's Palace Eurotop Plush" but that changes depending on where you are shopping.  It's a firm mattress but with the plush eurotop.  BUT the neat thing is the eurotop is latex.  Latex is the new big thing in mattresses.  It conforms to you and there is no motion transfer like with a memory foam (temperpedic) but without all the issues of trapping body heat.

We shopped for 2 hours and had it narrowed down to this and the new Temperpedic "Cloud" model and we both thought this was more comfortable.

We upgraded from a queen to a king so I got to buy all new bedding which was fun! :)

  • I should also mention I had been sleeping like crap and occasionally waking up with a numb hand/arm.  The mattress guy said it was from too firm of a mattress.  I like the support of a firm mattress so this was a good compromise.

Also, most times a new mattress will not be amazing right off the bat.  It takes 30-50 sleeps to break in the mattress and for your body to adjust.  My first night was BAD.  But I can tell I'm loving it more and more each night.  I had a lot to get used to though, new bed, sheets, pillows, comforter.  It was all new/strange.

My DH complains when it's not fluffed up regularly.  I try to do it a bit when I make the bed in the am, but we put the fitted sheet over it so it's tough.  The first night after the sheets are changed.....mmmm......
