I received a letter from my condo management yesterday that the I can claim a share of the building's expenditure on maintenance and renovations as HRTC. I had no idea. Our share is around $1,400. Yay!

Re: HRTC win!
It might very well be! Check with your board of directors or condo management too, if you can. I think the amount was based on work actually done, not condo fees paid... but there's always something being done in condo buildings.
I believe/assume that the letter my condo management sent me, stating the amount I qualify for, serves the same purpose as receipts.

Just to let you know - basically you get no credit at all for the first $1,000 of expenditures - so unless you spent additional funds on your own, your credit is only going to bet 15% of $400 or $60. Better than nothing, a decent dinner out at least.
This is ok by me...we spent just over $13K! Then we moved.... oy oy oy.
You're kind of a Debbie Downer, aren't you.

Sorry! I wasn't trying to be a downer! I just didn't want you to get your hopes up of a big refund because of this! A lot of people don't understand the mechanics of the credit, and don't realized you don't get any credit for the first $1,000.
Like I said, something is better than nothing! LOL
We got a similar letter from our condo company, our share was only a bit over $400 though.
