Anyone wanna play ....Pick my house?

We have been havinf such a rough go a this home buying thing! We had an offer accepted last week on a short sale, but the bank came back and wanted us to pay the owners 10k in liens off. So needles to say we backed out.

Anyways, we are looking at two promising houses on Monday. They are both a little further than we were originally looking, but look nicer than 95% off everything else we have looked at.

Opinions? Should be clicky... I wanted to use the realators listing, but you would need a password. Sorry for the zillow listings!

#1 ... Horsham Road. GREAT school district and two car garage. Also, well underpriced for nieghborhood. Our REA says they need to get rid of it and are willing to accept lower offers.Oil heat and well water, not to excited about that

Re: Anyone wanna play ....Pick my house?

  • Thought I would add. I HATE that we live in such an expensive housing market. I guess I watch way to much HGTV, but you would think for the kind of money these houses are going for we would be able to get an actual 2 story house  or someting a little bigger!
  • Both are great!  I like Surrey the best, except for the random post in the middle of the kitchen.  But it has lovely upgrades.
  • Aria, I like Surrey the best too! I am a sucker for a great kitchen. But ,my rational side tells me to get the other because it has a 2 car garage and the neighborhood is a little nicer. We will se when we check them out on Monday.
  • The surrey house is cuter.  The no garage thing isn't a huge deal but that support post in the kitchen would drive me bonkers.  Do you know why this house is priced above neighborhood comps?

The horsham one - the oil heat concerns me only because of how bad the prices of it have fluctuated as of late.  But it is supposedly better than gas heat.

  • Code, I think its priced so high because it is the nicest house on the street. Also, it is a complete flip, they bought it in April for $125k and are probably trying to get what they spent and then some.
  • I like Surrey based soley on the kicthen.  Like you, I am a sucker for a nice kitchen and the fact that you dont have to sink $ into it will be so nice later down the road.  The lone pillar doesn't bother me too much neither does the garage but the "better neigborhood" would really get me.  Im sure you will be able to feel out the better option once you see them IRL.
  • I like the Surrey house too!   A gas stove is a MUST for me.

  • Surrey here too - like Karrey said the kitchen is nicer.

  • Surrey as well.  The kitchen is so much nicer.  I'd have to really weigh the garage thing because for me that's a need-to-have for our own house, but that's just me.  The neighborhood would really make a difference in my decision, so GL Monday!!
