Anyone see the luge accident?
It was absolutely horrific. I watched the video before they gave an indication of the athlete's status. He was administered CPR on site and is listed as having life threatening injuries. He was going 144.3 KM/h at the time of the impact.
I highly recommend you turn the channel if they show the video again. It will be a miracle if the poor guy lives.
Re: Anyone see the luge accident?
Agreed!
I didn't see the video, but I heard he died. That is just awful and puts a dark cloud over the games
To be honest, I never really understood the luge or skeleton. Way too risky imo, but I guess I too am a chicken. I guess there are risks playing any sport though.
Ditto to this.
I heard this too. I hope they don't. I hope they stay and dedicate their performances to his memory.
So, so sad.

same, any athlete of that caliber would want his team to carry on. I hope they have a moment of silence for him at the medal ceremony.
