anyone else watching?
i'm not sure if it's the added hormones or not but I'm already a bit emotional.
I grew up in Calgary and vividly remember those games and have always loved the Olympics (especially the winter).

does it seem quiet to you? the crowd seems muted. I like that they are having the athletes in off the top so they can enjoy it and not miss it like they normally do.
i'm sure the cheer will be loud for Georgia. so sad
I know I am watching too!! I am loving it so far. Oh Georgia just came out, thats sad! They said that they are leaving the games?!
They are doing a really good job so far in showing Canada's Heritage!
not the games just the ceremony. they are staying in the games and dedicating them to the young man who died. I assume they are all pretty emotional and didn't want to celebrate tonight but wanted to honour him. hence the black arm bands and taking their hats off.
okay - so far Italy's outfits really are the most stylish!
I like that the kazakhstani flag bearer wore a traditional costume too

I am really enjoying the ceremonies so far!
I have almost cried twice and have been getting the chills all evening.
Scarlett made it to the canadian team coming in and she fell asleep just as the performances started.
Least favorite part by far...interesting portrayal of our country imo.
I thought that they were amazing! I was very proud to be Canadian watching them last night.
I loved KD's performance. She did a fabulous job!
