Re: Happy Chinese New Year!

  • I always enjoy reading horoscopes on the Chinese New Year.  Rock, did you have a good weekend with family, I think you mentioned MIL was coming into town.

DH and I try to make new recipes on Chinese New Year, we might try this tonight.

Mmm...I love wonton noodle soup.  It's seriously one of my favorite foods in the whole world.  Thick rice noodles are the best with it.  Let me know how that recipe works out if you try it.

I had a great, albeit tiring, CNY.  It's a big family event for us and it actually continues into next weekend.  We actually just got back from visiting MIL in Arizona late on Wednesday night.  On Friday we started cleaning the house from top to bottom after work, which is sort of a "requirement" for the start of the new year, and didn't get to bed until 4am Sat. morning.

Saturday afternoon we went over to my parents' house and had a huuuuuuge dinner that night to celebrate (lobster, abalone, conch, fish, veggies, chicken, pheasant...).  Then today we started the tradition of visiting every family member's house to wish them luck for the year--we did my parents' and my grandfather today, next weekend we have to do aunts and uncles.

Sorry if that was all more than you wanted to know!

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball
