Hey ladies:

It's the weekend PLUS it's gonna be V-day PLUS it's a long weekend for some of us (yay)!

So what are you gonna be doing? More specifically, what are the plans for Valentine's Day?

Me: Zero...no DH so just having a furry Valentine with Sammi. LOL

Aww, Lawby...I hope Sammi gives you lots of extra v-day snuggles! When does your H get back from his trip?

We aren't doing much this weekend! I need to get a long run in (11-12 miles) and am trying to plot out where I can get the least-slushy roads...I'm thinking probably Central Park. On Sunday we're making a little v-day dinner of lobster tails and having a bottle of wine (or two, LOL).

DH returns next week Wednesday - I miss him so much although I wanted him to go to get out of my hair for a while. Confused Enjoy you two!!

happy friday girls! i am so looking forward to a long weekend. it's DH's birthday on monday so we'll be celebrating a lot

tonight: wrapping gifts and making chocolate chip cookie brownies for DH's birthday

saturday: sleeping in! topping said cookie brownie things with a chocolate peanut butter ganache, (hopefully) getting a haircut, then DH's b-day party with friends

sunday: i'm making something brunch-y for us (mimosas & bloody marys of course), dinner date with DH at a restaurant TBD by DH

monday: sleeping in, giving DH some presents and having some kind of dessert for a birthday breakfast, no plans for the afternoon but taking the birthday boy to en japanese brasserie for dinner

Happy V-day weekend ladies!

Karllen, I'm sorry DH won't be here to celebrate the holiday with you, but in my opinion, Sammi the cat is a wonderful replacement!

Tonight: I was trying to get someone to come see the movie "Valentine's Day" with me, but DH is already a BFN and I asked my mom and sis, but sis said she heard if got bad ratings (which I don't care about, it looks cute regardless) and my mom probably won't want to go. So, if anyone is willing to travel out to SI or already lives here, you're more than welcome to join me!

Tomorrow: DH is working a side job, so that means I can lots of laundry and cleaning done around the house...ooh joy! =/

Sunday: I don't know if I've ever been to dinner on v-day...ever? It's always a mad house in most restaurants, so we usually stay in. I'll probably make dinner for us...my sis and her hubby may come over as well. So, we'll see...

Monday: Am I the only schmuck out there that has to work? =/ Even DH has the day off! I think they should give me the day off regardless, 'cause it's our anniversary! Yup, a whopping 2 years...and I have to work. =(

Karlien - i'm sorry you have to spend Vday with the cat! I say go into the city and get yourself a wonderful cupcake from Crumbs or Sweet Revenge as a treat.

Bonnie - Happy 2 yr Anniversary!!

Tonight: we're meeting with our doula (yay!) and then hanging out at home.

Tomorrow: maybe the farmer's market in the AM, then I have my prenatal massage (big yay!!!), and then we have to go pick up our CSA share. then maybe hanging out with friends and their two bostons.

Sunday: I think I'm going to make chocolate griddle cakes (aka chocolate pancakes) for brunch for us. then relaxing all day together, no real plans, and making a super yummy dinner together.

Monday: no work and no plans - so probably doing whatever we wanted to do over the weekend but didn't get to.

I agree that Karllen treat yourself to something special this weekend in your DH's absence

Thankfully, DH and I have Monday off too, but we never get to spend a traditional V-day together because working in the restaurant scene, he's swamped and overwork on V-day! So, we usually like to relax, make a great dinner at home and crack open a bottle of red wine, (but in my preggo state, it will be apple cider for me).

We do have plans to drive up to Walmart in Yonkers (being from the midwest where "Wally World" dominates, it's my first trip to one in NY), and MIL wants to come baby shopping with me and DH, and I'm hoping she offers to buy whatever she wants My mom has already bought so much stuff for my sweet pea, so I'm hoping it doesn't turn into a competition of the Grandmas'!

DH and i don't really have any plans either! But yesterday, he got out of work early and i was in the city still after ballet class and running errands, so i met up with him and we walked to a wine bar that we've been to. Had some wine and some shrimp and chorizo burgers (yum!) then came home. But it was really nice to sit and chat and sip!

Today we're probably going to start cleaning our apartment. I feel bad, cuz now that i'm unemployed...i should be able to keep a clean apartment...but i don't want to! Embarrassed Plus, i like sharing with DH. Wink Then i have ballet at 3pm, then more cleaning and hanging out.

No plans for actual V day. We'll make pancakes for breakfast and go grocery shopping at some point to make ourselves a nice dinner. I agree that restaurants are swamped on V day *and* they jack up their prices but make you think you're getting a deal!

DH has Mon off, so we might do an early movie and lunch out as a sort of V day date. But then we have rehearsal at 6:30pm.
