weekend getaway ideas?

DH and I have decided to take some of our tax return and have a nice weekend getaway. We have no idea where we want to go... any suggestions on where to stay and what to do?

No more than 3 hours (driving) from Buffalo, and we don't want to go to any wine regions (Finger Lakes, or Niagara on the Lake) We already have plans to go to both this summer/fall.

Right now we are considering Cleveland (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame), Pittsburgh, and Toronto (even though we've been at least a dozen times, but we really want to see the Hockey Hall of Fame)

TIA!

Re: weekend getaway ideas?

  • I love, love, LOVE Cleveland!  The R&R HOF is really fun, and they have a great theater district, too.  Lots of great pubs and restaurants.  I found it very easy to get around there, too.  Have fun wherever you go!

  • I would looooove to go to the Hockey Hall of Fame!  But couldn't Toronto be done as a day or overnight trip?

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame would be fun, too!

  • well i will always vote for the burgh!  there are the museums, the zoo which is amazing, the south side with lots of little bars, shadyside and squirrel hill with little boutique shopping.  It does take 4 hours to get there. if you have any questions just page me or better yet come to the GTG on Thursday :)
  • My sisters and I just met in Cleveland in early Dec. for a holiday get together and we Loved it. Stayed in the Embassy Suites for a reasonable rate, free shuttle to the downtown area (pubs, restaurants), and it included a happy hour and a free buffet breakfast.
