Where do you shop for clothes?

I'm getting burned out on my regular haunts (Kohl's, Macy's, and JC Penney's mostly). I tried a few stores in the mall (Kenwood) last week and it seemed that I was either too old to shop there (e.g., Forever 21) or too young (everything in Talbots reminded me of something my mom would wear).

I do like H&M and New York & Co., but I rarely find anything that actually fits me well in those stores.

So, recommend your favorite places! TIA!

Re: Where do you shop for clothes?

  • I go to macy's and head right to the clearance racks!  I like TJ Max too.  I've always found the clothes (or at least bottoms) at NY&C to cling a little too much.  Dillard's has some great clearance deals.  I liked to go to the Tri-County and western Hills stores when I was in Cincy.

  • I am a clearance shopper. I can find good deals at Express, The Limited, JCrew,  Banana Republic, and the Gap.

  • I like Ann Taylor Loft and Banana Republic (when their clothes are on sale). I also like the Gap and am beginning to like Eddie Bauer. If I'm looking for something really nice for a wedding or something, I'll check out White House Black Market. Hope that helps ;)

  • Gabriel Brothers always seems to have Ann Taylor and Loft clothing.  You just have to make sure the items don't have obvious defects.  They usually have size 10 & smaller.  For some reason they have a ton of the very small petite sizes.  I am not a very small petite size so I'm SOL!

  • Thanks for the good ideas ladies!

I don't think I've ever been in Express or Banana Republic... I remember wishing I could shop there in my teenage years like the cool girls, but I was a plus size then and they had nothing to fit me. I'm not small these days by any means, but maybe there's something that will fit now!

  • I usually end up at Ann Taylor, White House Black Market or Cache
  • I really like Ann Taylor Loft. I also have some luck with Target- but their clothes definitely don't last as long.

  • I shop for clothes at Anthropologie, Express, Francesca's Collection (Crestview Hills Town Center) and Urban Outfitters. I also will browse the racks at Target.

I agree here with the addition of Banana Republic (when they have sales they are great),  Macys has wonderful sales as well and even places like Nordstrom and the Rack.

  • I've only been able to find pants/jeans at the Gap that fit me right, so I shop there, and usually buy a few pairs of jeans in Aug/Sept when there on sale. I also love Eddie Bauer
  • 90% of my clothes are from Old Navy. The rest come from Kohls or Target. I am super cheap when it comes to buying clothes for myself and since I am not a model I am not a fan of trying on clothes so I shop online at ON and Kohls and buy everything in a few sizes and then just return what doesn't work out. If I am buying something nice for work I usually go to Macys and head to the sale racks.

  • I also LOVE Old Navy!  I just recently discovered how much I love their clothes and when I DO buy clothes for myself, I go there first.  Have fun!

  • If I've got money to spend I'll usually shop at JCrew, Anthropologie and Nordstrom (and Nordstrom has a great cash back program with their credit card).

If I'm shopping on more of a budget I'll usually do Macy's. You can almost always find something on sale.

And for shoes it's always DSW. Good selection, good prices and cash rewards. Oooo I LOVE SHOES!

  • Along with several of the stores noted above... Missy and Jack ~ http://www.missyandjack.com/ for the majority of my casual clothes as well as select work pieces.

As a side note, I was shopping in Kenwood Towne Centre Sunday and thought the entire day that I seem to have entered some odd in-between age. I used to have several "go-to" stores, and now I can't find a single one!
