I just need to get this all out. A lot of bad stuff has happened in the last month and a half and I need some wine and a good cry.
DH's grandfather got hit by a car and past away just before Christmas. Then my MIL had pneumonia and we spent Christmas eve and half of Christmas day at the hospital with her. She moved in with us for a few weeks because her crack head brother (who she lives with) called the police and had her taken in for a psych evaluation. Everything was looking up for awhile and she moved in with her mom (widowed from DH's grandfather's death). She recently moved back in with her brother and the drama has started again.
Then my grandma got pneumonia and spent a couple of weeks in the hospital, got released, went back with lung complications and passed away last Friday.
We got in a car accident in DH's new car. It wasn't our fault and the other insurance company was great. Well, it's been in the shop for 3 weeks now and the frame is bent. They won't total it because it's new but, of course, lots of value depreciation that will show up on the car facts.
My much needed trip to New Orleans to hang out with my BFF was canceled due to the ridiculous amounts of snow we've gotten.
Then today, I got cut down to part time at work. The economy has really hit us hard and my boss has tried her best to keep us. I have busted my ass for the best 7 years. I'm also losing my health insurance. I can get on DH's but it'll cost twice as much and I'm making half as much.
My foster kitties went to the vet for all their tests and to get spayed today. They have feline lukemia and have been in close contact with our other two cats.
UGH! FML! Wow, that was long. Thanks for letting me get it out. Going to look for a new job now. Hope everything is going better for you ladies. If not, feel free to vent here!
Re: I'm throwing a pity party if anyone would like to join.
Since this post is from last night, I hope that maybe you were able to get some things out, take a moment for yourself, and maybe feel a little lighter today (and you very well may have a bit of thumper if you 'enjoyed' as much wine as I would have!).
You keep your chin up...I would love to give you big hug and join you for a drink (wine, beer, tequila, rum...you'd pick!). Too bad we're far apart...and buried under this dang-freakin-frackin-never-ending snow!
:::hugs & vibes::: that your dark cloud will break-up and give you some much deserved sunny skies!

Ugh! Jenni!
I am so sorry you have been going thru all this! Lots of hugs for you (and beer....and wine....)
I hope things start to look up for you! and I hope all of your kitties are ok!

:::Hugs:: I'm so sorry you are dealing with all that. I'm sorry about your grandma, I know hard hard it is.
I'm sorry about the trip, I know how much you were looking forward to it. And I can't believe MIL went back to live with her brother...wow...just wow.
The job situation sucks! Do you know if things are going to go back to normal soon?
And kittie hugs for your cats, I hope they are ok.
If you need to GTG and have a drink this week let me know. I'm leaving Friday, but any other day I'm all yours.
This.
I'm so sorry you are dealing with all of this stuff. If you need anything I'm just an email away! I would be there to drink with you but... I live in stupid CA. I'm sending you ((HUGS)) from here.
OMG! Jenni, that is SO much going on for you right now! I'm so sorry that you are going through so much. Please, please let me know if there is anything that I can do for you.
I know this is just one of of the numerous things going on, but this just came to me...Can you file for unemployment for the difference in pay that was cut from you? I really don't know, but I thought that I heard something about that before.
(((hugs)))
Jenni, I'm so sorry that all of this is hitting you now.
It sounds a lot like my past year (FI's totalled car, me losing my job, my grandma now in hospice, etc.) but I'm sure it's worse when it happens all in one short period of time.
And that sucks about your foster kitties. It seems like there is some saying about bad things happening to good people that applies to you right about now. I hope your luck changes and that things get better soon!
Kahtie - I've been trying to figure out who I pissed off! I guess they say, life only gives you what you can handle. Hope things turn around for both of us soon. I'm understanding more and more why people become alcoholics and drug addicts. Life sucks sometimes!
Natalee - I've heard something about that too and am going to look into it. I'm babysitting my BF's kids tonight while she works. If they go to bed like good girls, I'll spend some time researching it. If not, tomorrow is my first day off with my new schedule.
Blue - A government job would be nice but I don't have a clearance and it can take a really long time. I have a lot of friends who work for the fed government and those who are not military took a year or more to get their jobs. I have had a resume in with a major government contractor for several months. ::Fingers Crossed::

I've heard this also, I am like 99% sure you can file, but like all things gov't related there are regulations and such that you have to qualify for. (or brackets you have to fall within the qualify) Let me know if you need any help researching that because DH and my FIL are both really up on their unemployment law for some reason, lol. I know things vary state to state, but not that much.
lots of **hugs**
