Good Mornin' Ladies!

I just wanted to say Mornin' to y'all before I go back and catch up on the posts I missed this past weekend (I did pop on quickly a few times but no time to respond).  I hope everyone had a good weekend and a swell V-Day.

My weekend was great.  Friday M took me to The Cheesecake Factory for din din, we tried their lettuce wraps to judge if they are better than Chang's, and OH EMM GEEEE they are BY FAR the best one's I've ever had!

Saturday we took our niece all day and night, it was so fun.

Sunday we had our niece most of the day then that night we went to see The Wolfman, M enjoyed it, me = not so much.  M also had flowers sent to the house for me for VDay, I always let him think he suprises me because he makes things so obvious.  I knew he ordered them and knew when they arrived but I played suprised because I always feel bad, he really must think I'm numb though thinking he can suprise me but continuously make it obvious when he's planning/doing something (he doesn't shut up about it).  He also thought he had roses sent to me (thank God they weren't, I like getting different ones, roses get old after a while) so he went online to check his order and realized he did get the right order, he just didn't realize they were tulips and iris's (though it said it right in the description).  They are SO pretty, I think I actually put a picture in a pp.

Yesterday I went to my Aunt's house, she went with me to pick my brother up at the shelter he's living in.  I hadn't seen him in 2 years, she hadn't seen him in about 12 years maybe longer.  I must say though he didn't look great, he looked much better than I thought he would, though his clothes were holey and stained and he looked like he hadn't had a decent shower in a few.  My cousin gave him a bunch of his old clothes that no longer fit so he could have decent looking clothes when he goes to school (he is supposedly going to be attending Lincoln Tech. Institute soon).  My Aunt had him take a long hot shower and we took him to lunch because it was his birthday.  I noticed his teeth looked even worse than before (I know, may sound weird I notice teeth) but he informed me March 8th he's having them all pulled per his dentists orders and getting dentures, he's only 26!  He claims this time around he's serious about getting his life on track.  The shelter is only 8 minutes from my Aunt's house so she said she's going to keep tabs on him.

That about sums my weekend up, again I hope you all had good ones too!

Re: Good Mornin' Ladies!

  • Glad you had a good weekend!! Sorry your bro wasn't in better shape but maybe this time he'll go through w/ changing his life.

  • Good morning!  And, ditto Rachel-- hopefully with your Aunt nearby and being at the shelter your brother will be able to make some positive changes in his life.

  • Wow-I'm so sorry about your brother, but hope this and Aunt living nearby helps him get on track! I'm sure you were glad to see him-despite these things.  You sound like it in your post.

Yah to M for the lovely flowers-they were beautiful!

  • Silly M thinking he can pull one over on you!  At least he tries though.

I too am sorry to hear about your brother.  I hope this is his chance.

  • Sorry for things with your brother.  I hope this time is it and he gets his life together.  I know how hard it is to have a family member like that.

M did good with the flowers, they were beautiful girlie!

  • Even though M can't surprise you, at least he gets you flowers! N has only bought me flowers 2-3 times in the past 3 1/2 years!

I hope your brother takes this chance to turn his life around! It takes some hard living to have to get dentures at 26. . .

  • Wow . . . glad to hear your brother is doing better . . . I hope he keeps on that track.  My uncle was in a shelter for a while and it really helped him out.  (He is schizophrenic though, so it only did so much.)  He actually went back to school and got his degree, started attending church, etc.  Without the shelter I believe my uncle would have died.  Keep your fingers crossed that your brother takes advantage of the help he can receive there.

And I loved your flowers, especially because they are different!
