selling $$$ furniture locally?

DH and I have two back support chairs that we would like to sell locally. They retail for $1300+ each at Relax the Back. Do you guys have any suggestions for the best options for selling them locally? I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing we should bother selling on CL. Thanks!

Re: selling $$$ furniture locally?

  • want to email me a pic (or FB)?  my husband's back kills him with his work chair and I wouldn't mind passing the pic along to see if he'd like it.  :)
  • I've never checked it out, but there's a Home Consignment store in the Arbor Walk shopping area (near Spec's and Mighty Fine).
  • I'd try craigslist. It won't cost you anything and they may go.  Higher priced items seem to take longer, but I've eventually sold some pretty expensive things.  It just depends on how fast you want them to go.  Statesman online classified ads were free for a time - you could check there as well.  I sold an entertainment center on Statesman in two days after it had been on CL for over a month.
  • Joyco, they are called Zero Gravity Recliners from Relax the Back. I will send you some pics, but wanted to tell you the brand so that you can read on them. We have one that has tan wood and green leather and another that is dark brown wood with black leather.

  • haha!  not exactly office friendly, eh?  :)  but still send me pics b/c we've been talking about getting rid of our couch and getting recliners instead.  We hate our guests.
