I don't know if this has been posted...or if it's true.
I'm hearing from a couple of friends who work on the Senate side that McCain's camp is now proposing to reschedule tomorrow's debate for next week--the date of the VP debate, canceling the VP debate altogether.
Brilliant, if true. Infuriating, but brilliant.

Re: No VP debate
I dont think the VP debate should be skipped at all. I hope that isnt what tehy are pushing for because it makes it look like there isnt much confidence in Palin.
I am looking forward to the VP debate. I think Palin will do just fine, and Biden is SUCH a wildcard... I think he has way more gaffe-potential than Palin does. I think he will do (more than he already has) damage in the debates, so why would I want it to be cancelled?
The MPC has to know how bad this looks. The scary thing is, they know this and they're still considering it. This makes me think she's worse than we all think.
Maybe she's crying during mock debates???

Yes, CNN reported this story yesterday. McCain is actively trying to postpone the VP debate.
From CNN Correspondent Dana Bash
(CNN) ? McCain supporter Sen. Lindsey Graham tells CNN the McCain campaign is proposing to the Presidential Debate Commission and the Obama camp that if there's no bailout deal by Friday, the first presidential debate should take the place of the VP debate, currently scheduled for next Thursday, October 2 in St. Louis.
In this scenario, the vice presidential debate between Joe Biden and Sarah Palin would be rescheduled for a date yet to be determined, and take place in Oxford, Mississippi, currently slated to be the site of the first presidential faceoff this Friday.
Graham says the McCain camp is well aware of the position of the Obama campaign and the debate commission that the debate should go on as planned ? but both he and another senior McCain adviser insist the Republican nominee will not go to the debate Friday if there's no deal on the bailout.
