Have you ordered any plants/seeds yet?
I'm expanding my garden this year and going to try some new stuff. I'm putting my order together so I can go ahead and start some seeds indoors.
I have the itch so bad I was out a week ago in the snow pulling weeds out of my garden beds. I'm so sick of the cold and indoors.
What are you growing this year?
I'n addition to my norm (zuchini, squash, green beans, corn, cabbage, lettuce, raddish, onions and tomatoes) I'm going to try: okra, brussel sprouts, carrots, arugula, chives, honeydew, canataloupe, watermelon, and expand on my variety of my traditionals. I'm adding a traditional garden space this year of about 3/4 acre. I'm so excited (if it will ever stop raining/snowing enough to cut/till the field!)

I actually got my first order of seeds in the mail yesterday! Over Christmas we got some bad news--that the owner of the property that contains our garden is allowing another neighbor to "share it". We haven't spoken with the owner of the land to know specifically what the neighbors' share will be. Sooo, I had to scale back some. I only left one large bed open to the new guy, but I think for now, that's kind of fair.
We do have an established asparagus plot, so that won't change.
New for 2010:

Tomatoes (3 different kinds of heirloom variety) last year our tomatoes were a bust
Jericho Lettuce
Eggplant
Dill
Oldies but Goodies:
Sunflowers
Peppers (several different varieties)
Lettuce (a few different varieties as well)

I'm itching to get out there as well Buckin! I'm hoping for at least one nice day this weekend to go out there and get the leaves out and maybe try and till a few of the plots. See how frozen it is.
Ahhh yes, eggplants..I'm doing those and cucumbers as well. I forget everything I have on my list! LOL
Our tomatoes were a bust last year as well. We got some, but our biggest problem was the weather. It was sooooo wet that we planted late, and didn't get half of what we normally do planted...and we had a lot of bug and mold problems on our plants.
This year isn't shaping up much better so far.

i actually bought my seeds monday, i need to start them tomorrow. last year i started them a little too late and i started 3/1.
i'm doing broccoli, lettuce, spinach, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, peppers, green beans, and already have strawberries and blueberries. i want to try garlic but i haven't done any research, i think that'll be a fall plant. my onions are actual bulbs instead of sets, so i'm hoping for a better year on those.
Yea...I was hoping to get a bit early start on the seeds but with the switching over to permanent employee the three week wait on the next paycheck screwed me up on the budgeting. Hopefully it will be fine though. I will buy SOME of my plants from the nursery here but I'm going after some hybrids that are more desease resistent this time and he doesn't carry a good variety of those.
i honestly haven't had time to do research on types, i just picked what i wanted at lowe's. i had fully intended on ordering seeds online and doing research this year, but time has gotten away from me
