Did you ever decide to take the Bradley classes? If so what do you think?
Re: Mrs Pink
Yes, I had what I think was my 7th last night. It's been going well. I'm not as extreme as the teacher so it's kinda comical at some times. Last night we did relaxation for like an hour and I totally fell asleep...this is not the objective though so I have to work on it more to stop myself from totally letting go in the next couple weeks. Next week we're working on hard labor/2 stage techniques/distractions when the relaxation isn't enough. I'm excited about that!
How are you liking them?
I am liking them too! We fell behind and just finished class seven (writing the birth plan). We're doing the relaxation thing on the next class. Have you got to watch any of those wonderful videos yet? Some are quite scary.
Falling asleep during relaxation isn't totally a bad thing though, my SIL was able to sleep between contractions and conserve energy because she was able to get herself so relaxed.
Yeh, we breezed thru the birth plan thing at like class 5 and she said she'd go over it again later, to be working on it. I finished mine already so I guess I'll turn it into the Dr next appt. We don't follow the outline too much or the workbooks, but I love my workbook. DH and I go thru it on the weekends. I find it informative.
Some of the videos are OLD. We watched a little bit of Business of Being Born which I've seen before. I made my mom take it home and watch it since she's been attending the classes due to DH working nights. Both will be my coaches.
We pretty much go in order. The couples we were with both had their babies early, so we're on our own with the instructors. I really like the work book too, we refer to it a lot.
Those videos are ridiculously old. We just DVRd The Business of Being Born, I haven't seen it yet, we'll probably watch it this week sometime.
I hear this is really good, we'll get it on Netflix this spring.
Dang. Now that is relaxed.
Everything I have read says that sleeping between contractions is the best thing you can do for yourself, if you can get yourself to that point. I surely hope I can do it.
I am getting nervous about the actual labor. Mostly because I will be working up until I go in labor, so I could start contractions while at school, I could start them in the middle of the night. It is the uncertainty that is making me nervous.
Please do...
That's something I don't think I would be interested in doing during labor. That's just me though.
