Incidentally, I did love Monopoly, though - the one with houses and hotels, not boutiques. Ugh.
WHY do they have to take gender neutral things and make them "girly." They really think girls can't play/don't watn to play regular monopoly? When is the really annoying over the top boy version coming out? Oh wait, it won't. They seem to think only girls can't handle the "regular" version.

On a sidenote I tried very hard to avoid all the pink clothing for my daughter and was given piles of it as gifts. *sigh* I swear 80% of what she owns is pink and that was soooo not my plan.
cee-jay, I am so not a fan of pink in general so it's been tough to swallow b/c everything clothing-wise for girls is pink. I've had to let it go. However I do buy just about anything NOT pink, especially dresses. I have the cutest blue dress for my daughter. She didn't need it but dammit it wasn't pink!
This is one reason I'm glad we didn't find out the sex! Everything I have right now is gender neutral. I figure there's plenty of time for pink stuff and blue stuff later on, but at least we'll start off neutral.
I looooved pink as a little girl, but I also loved playing with tadpoles in the creek and building forts in the woods. I even remember a friend of my mom's warning her that she should try to get me into makeup and stuff because otherwise I would turn out to be a lesbian. Uh, yeah.
LOL The best part is that she can be wearing a dress, a flowery hat, girlie shoes, and all other things not gender neutral, and if she is NOT in pink people will still ask, "wait, she's a girl, right?"

Just for fun I googled "monopoly for boys". Nothing specifically for boys, but look at all of these versions!
We collect different monopoly games. We have Star Wars, Pokemon, New York, Washington DC, Whoville, Lord of the Rings to name a few. But my favorite is Ghettopoly. I unfortunately missed out getting Redneckopoly although I could still pay a premium for it.
