Adam forgot to buy me card for Vday so he wrote me poem. I know you guys won't understand some of the references but I tought it was good I had to share. Warning: I copied and pasted using my phone so I apologize if the format is terrible.

 It Rained For Awhile

The sixth of November
Will never surrender
It rained for awhile
But ended in smiles

A grand at-home-reception
later seemed full of deception
Who would have thought
A Champion soon would be lost

Great hopes for December
Coming off our high in November
Lord knows we would have called him
Had we realized the 28th would be the last time that we saw him

A new dress for Jenni
A new jacket for Adam
I'm sure we'll both look great
At the Rotary party

Inside the mall
One new missed call
Vague info from Shock Trauma
Sets off the drama

A call from the parking lot
To Check on Grand Pop
"I'm sorry Grand Mom"
"He shouldn't be gone"

Crossing the street
By way of his feet
Over a hill
A young girl she flew
Hitting the brake
Just a second too late
Likely resulted in the kill

Two on the drive home
But we felt all alone
The 15th of December
What a sad Tuesday to remember

Entering our home
A barren tree stood
So we finished our task
As we felt that we should

A harsh weekend snow
Postponed the military show
Nothing to do but sit around and wait
For the 23rd of December funeral date

"Taps" it was played
And a shell casing laid
A light winter's breeze
With snow to our knees
Eight men did march
To a high frozen spot:
Fred William Champion's burial plot

Christmas Eve would bring
Yet another sting

Empty hospital halls
And cold concrete walls
Pneumonia and fever
For days it would keep her

Dasher Dancer
Prancer and Vixen
Just give us a break
Cause our Christmas is Stricken

Mom back on her feet
Then wrongfully committed
Goodness me! she must be a sinner
Cause a padded room is where she'll have dinner

Back at our house
She's quiet as a mouse
Isn't it Jolly
Chasing ol' Holly

Once there were two
Now there were three
What's happening on 33rd
Has become quite absurd

Grand Mom needs help
So Mom's moving in
But now cousin Jimmy
Oh where have you been

Mom back to Barry's?
Come on, this is scary
Run Scotty run!
Cause those are Barry's guns

What can we do to get out of this pickle?
December 31st 09 Lennon Lee is official

Such A bright neon sign
That we'll surely be fine
And a promise from Mel
That I'll soon be online

It rained for awhile
Now let's find those lost smiles
A new decade is in
And it's time to begin

Mel's thirty-two
And I'm close behind
We're gonna move forward
And see what we'll find

A new cat named Dena
Then another called Lucea
Lock em in the spare room
So Thelma can't eat em

The Jets were on fire
Don't call me a liar
Congratulations, great job Rex
Kwangsuck smashed my W-R-X

What's that I hear?
Are you starting to laugh?
Savor that next breath
Cause it might be your last

What's with this poem?
Is it Poe - Is it Seuss
I'll give you a clue
It won't end with a noose

Our story begins
Where the sidewalk it ends
A light has gone off in the attic
And I think we've both had it

Late January would follow
With a tough pill to swallow
Jamaica would be her last thrill
As Emma sadly fell ill

Packing her bag
In a surprise Saturday snow
Jenni realized
It was her Nan's time to go

A trip to New York
Was shortly there rendered
As Jenni Leigh said "goodbye"
For the last time in Rochester

Back at our home
New Orleans we will go
Whispers of a blizzard
Threatening to blow

Beads - they would fly
Planes - they would not
On February the fifth
We'd settle for an Odenton spot

Oh how we would have liked
To be on Bourbon Street that night
But with the Arbelos, Mel, and Deluca at side
A call would come in that Nanny had died

Tears would fall down
With no end in sight
As this poem came about
From our Valentine's plight

No card for Jenni
Ouch, that's a shame
I'll draft a Valentine's poem
To fend off the blame

With the joyous of news
The Fifteenth is filled
A workplace meeting
I'm sure you'll be thrilled

Thank you Denise
For Jenni's release
Three days is great
We'll just skimp on steak

It rained for awhile
Then started to pour
How could a smile
Breakthrough our door

A story of grim winter trends
A poem so Topsy and Turvy
Will be turned around with great family and friends
From Louisiana, Maryland, New York, and New Jersey

That high frozen spot
Soon will turn hot
And a beautiful flower will grow
Where before stood only snow

M Seven will flourish
And I'll certainly take notice
When Jenni and Gotti
Finally meet Uncle Otis

Dena and Lucea
A great family they'll find
One that will be
So friendly and Kind

We'll take many trips
As I captain my ship
Hey! look there, it's Nan
And she's getting a tan

While we pass "Little Champ"
It will be plain to see
Just how much Grand Pop and Nan
Loved both you and me

Summers will come
And blizzards will pass
One thing that's certain
Is the rains never last

With memories of the 6th of November
We will undoubtedly never surrender
It rained for awhile
And we're going to smile!
