4x6 prints

Where do you get 4x6 prints made?  I'm looking for a good deal on about 30 prints.  I don't care if it's online or in the store.  I can wait a few days for a better price.  I'd prefer not to pay for shipping, though.

Re: 4x6 prints

  • When I have prints done at the store, I go to CVS and do the 1-hour develop.

Or, if you don't have an account set up yet, visit http://www.shutterfly.com and your first 50 prints are free! And throughout the year, they'll have discount offers (i.e. discounts on photo books or free shipping)

  • I ordered extra wedding prints from mpix.com. Very good quality and I couldn't even tell the difference between the 4x6's I received from my photographer (part of my package) and the ones I ordered from mpix.

Have you ever made an album with mpix or just ordered pictures? I signed up with them to possibly make an album but don't know what kind of quality they are.

  • I use shutterfly and if it is a good picture that I want nicer quality I use mpix

  • Yeah, I like shutterfly but like I said I don't want to pay for shipping.  I only order prints from there if I'm getting a photobook at the same time or something.  I see cvs.com has the same sign up and get 50 free prints thing so maybe I will see if I can do that and pick up in store?  I will check out mpix now.

I haven't used them for an album (our wedding one was included in our photog package). However I would expect similar good quality.

I will be making an album of our house being built shortly. I'm deciding between mpix, mypublisher, and shutterfly. mpix is the most expensive. I have downloaded the software and it will basically come down to which program lets me do what I want/need for the layout. I will let you know what I think of them and what I decided to go with (and eventually what the quality is like).

  • I've heard good things about mpix quality but have never used them myself.

I'm a big fan of Costco for everyday prints.  They're the cheapest by far and you can upload everything online and then pick them up in the store.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Also, through Shutterfly, you can pick up prints at some Target stores that have a photo center.

  • I always get mine from Kodak. I order them online and give in and pay shipping, but I know they also have an option for same-day pick up at CVS. I don't know if there's an extra fee for that.

Also, if you have a kodak account, you're required to spend a certain amount of money each year on photos. With all our wedding photos, we've met this minimum no problem, but when they first started doing it, it was annoying. I think the minimum is around $5, unless you store a huge amount of photos there, so it's not a big deal.
