#2 - if she thinks our board is full of negative people looking to get nasty, or however it was that she described us, then she has apparently not spent a lot of time posting on other boards. The Cincy board has got to be the nicest board on theNest.

I super puffy heart you! I was thinking the same thing about her post but I didn't want to post anything. If she actually knew the person I wouldn't have felt the way I do, but she doesn't know them and there are tons of people in this city that horrible things happen too but we just can't donate to them all.
ETA: And yes there is never any drama over here. Everyone is so nice and understanding. I mean the last drama we had was wayyy back when that one girl, silver something, started a bunch. Before that- I have no idea when we had drama last.
I felt her post wasn't very appropriate either, just didn't say anything. I giggled when the responses on her board were that you were just miserable...really?!? She doesn't even know the family personally. I can support people raising money for others, but she rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe because I don't see her posting often. The Cincinnati nest board is pretty much drama free, maybe the drama just comes up when she posts...?

Thanks ladies! I appreciate the thoughts and frankly, I was really surprised when the other poster said that she hated this board. I honestly feel that this is the nicest board I'm on and that we all try to be supportive of each other most of the time. Oh well...

That's crazy - I can't believe how quickly that post became a b*tchfest!
Anyway, I understand why she posted and I also appreciated your response. What I don't understand is why she became so defensive. That, to me, is a little weird.
Also... if I could pay someone to clean and change my dog's puppy training pads I would do it. So, the paying someone to pick up poop thing is cool in my book. Plus you're supporting local businesses!
Last thing I want to say - the Cincinnati board is the only one I feel comfortable in, because I know I won't get crapped on for saying something different than what the clique group says. I think that's because there isn't really a clique group here. And I like that.

Stop by more, we want you here! We really need to get this board up and running again.
People are always asking for support for one issue or another, or $ to support a nestie, or what not. Honestly I'm surprised the Nest hasn't regulated these requests yet. Who is to say when a request is over the line. At some point someone is going to request money for a controversial topic, charity, nestie, situation, whatever, and the crud is going to hit the fan. I'm not saying that pp's request was wrong, just that I'm starting to feel uncomfortable with all the requests for money on the Nest & Bump (local & national).
Two other observations: pp used to post under at least one other screen name. She used to be a regular but it's hard to realize that b/c of the name changes. And Nota tells it like it is, everyone remember that before getting all huffy. Sometimes it's a good thing to have someone around who isn't all puppies & rainbows!
And who the hell cares how someone chooses to "waste" $50 a month? I for one waste too much money on library fines and my Saturday lunch out!
Oh, and I see there were a couple of DDs. Hmm.
I'm going to stop posting now.
