Hi girls! You are always such a big help so I figured you could definitely give me some ideas on this one...
My husband just let me know that he wants to take me somewhere for a weekend to celebrate my 25th birthday in April. We would probably rather go somewhere we can drive to... any suggestions? I'm open to any/all possibilities! Thanks!!
Re: Weekend getaway?
our anniversary is 2 days after my birthday so we spent the weekend in Chicago to celebrate both occassions last year in April and it was a blast! I would love to make it an annual trip.
Last year we went to Madison, Indiana for a weekend and stayed at the Iron Gate Inn, our room was $140 per night. It was the nicest room they had, and the other rooms weren't nearly as nice. It's close and an easy drive. There is a cute downtown area and lots of wineries around if you are into wine.
You could also check out: Gatlinburg, Hocking Hills, Chicago, Indianapolis, Lexington, and there are lots of cute little towns within 2 hours.
The W Lakeshore in Chicago! It's our favorite weekend getaway. Of course you can explore the city, shop, eat, but you don't even have to leave the hotel there's so much to do.
We are also fans of Red River Gorge for a cabin weekend. Red River Gorgeous cabins are a great, inexpensive trip.

Chicago or Gatlinburg are 2 drive-to locations that we went to, and loved both for different reasons. We stayed outside of the city in Chicago; and in Gatlinburg rented a cabin in the mountains.
Depends on if you are more of a city or country person.
