Since when....

did old people learn how to use social networking sites?! Sorry I know that sounds offensive, but my stepmother-in-law's mother is my 'friend' on FB, and now I just saw that my FIL's mother is on FB too!

Re: Since when....

  • lol!

My mom is on FB and sometimes it weirds me out...I think she creeps my profile hahaha!

  • Pretty much all of my FIL's side of the family is on FB...it's kind of weird! I still remember when it was only college kids.

  • DH's grandma is on FB, I hoped for the longest time that she wouldn't friend me, but she did...

  • My parents and my ILs are on FB now.  I created a group called "family" with very limited access so at least they don't get to see everything I do.  It's very weird to be FB friends with my FIL -- especially since I was on FB back when I was in college (and it was only for college students).  So much has changed.
  • Most of DH's cousins, aunts and uncles are on FB.  Many of his aunts and uncles are in their 50's and 60's!  I like his extended family well enough but don't know them very well at all.  I feel kind of strange having these semi-strangers knowing my 'stuff' (at least until I get to know them better).  Thank goodness for privacy settings!  I've blocked them from seeing the majority of my info/activity.  They don't really need to know when we are getting our drink on ;)

  • My grandpa is on FB.  When he first joined he would always call asking questions about how can he loads photos and write on people's walls...oh Papa!  :)
  • Its actually the largest growing population on Facebook.  I don't mind myself but I live so far away from all of them its the easy way to stay connected.

  • I found it a bit odd, too at first, but it's a good way to stay connected.  Think about how much we complain about older people not wanting to use email.  We should be happy that they're staying current!
