I realize it's a little late in the day to start these up.
Here's one of many I could confess today:
Remember me saying MH's bonus didn't come through? He called and said "I'll have you charge the car's brakes until it comes through and then we'll pay it off." Normally I'd be fine with that, except we've charged a few things already in preparation for the move that we're doing that with, namely the $950 in appliances ON THIS SPECIFIC CARD OF MINE. (The appliances will be paid off in the next two weeks.) I just got sick to my stomach thinking of charging another $500-600 on this card (there's ample room - it's not that. It's just back to back BIG charges like that.) Anyway, I fought him on it and said "Can't we just debit it? We have enough money to pay for it. We normally plan $XXXX for your checks and this one is like $(XXXX+500)."
He said we didn't think we could swing it financially and it was more like $(XXXX+400), so it wouldn't cover it.
He just texted me. Car's done. And we can afford to debit it. ![]()
I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO am sitting on my phone to avoid texting him "I told you so."
Re: Confessions?
This morning I received a facebook friend request from an ex. This is the ex who I dated right before MH. I thought about it and then curiosity got the best of me so I accepted the friend request.
And I have been laughing all day at his wife who is apparently 30 but looks like she is 12 (and she wears hip hop hats and Twilight tshirts in public). [If you wear these things, I apologize but she just looks so ridiculous in them].
I'm also amused at his job. He used to tell me it would be ok if I didn't pass the bar exam because he could take care of me...and his job is one that makes probably a quarter (or less) than what I make a year. This is not normally funny to me - it's only funny because he thought I was an idiot and couldn't do anything without him.
A little piece of me is anxious to see what our friends will say when they find out about all the upgrades we got in the house. They think we "waste" money on vacations and that Mike's wasting his time working PT and going to school...and therefore, we have no money for nice house things.
They told us there was a $10k limit on upgrades so that's where they stopped...turns out anything over $10k you have to pay 50% of on the spot (goes towards closing costs though). I kind of can't wait to find out what they say when the see everything we got. And we're not cancelling our Mexico trip. We haven't told them anything about what we're doing either. And I normally am not like this, but I'm tired of them jumping on us everytime we do anything.
