Tiger Woods....

"Sex Addiction?"  Really?  Confused

I'm not doubting that Sex Addiction actually exists, I'm just doubting that Tiger Woods actually has it.  Why can't a celebrity just be wrong?  Why do they have to say, "yeah, my bad, but see... it wasn't completely my fault because I have [...enter disease here...]."

I honestly don't care about Tiger Woods' affairs.  I'd still go to a golf game if I knew he'd be there, just to see him do his thing.   I just think this cover is pretty weak.

Re: Tiger Woods....

  • Honestly, I am tired of hearing about it. I just hope he's back in time for the master's... we go every year.
  • I am also tired of hearing about it.  I would also agree that the excuse is pretty lame.  Just admit you messed up.  You're human.  Sometimes we make mistakes.  I have more respect for people when they actually admit they messed up than trying to cover it up w/ some excuse or whatever.

This. We were watching it in our office and I said pretty much the same thing. You put your manparts where they didn't belong and you got caught. You don't have an addiction, you are just a cheating jerk.

I wish Elin had hit him with the golf club. DH knows if he ever got caught doing crap like that he'd get worse than a golf club!

You don't think she did?  I know Tiger's denied it, but he's also a cheating SOB.  I would be shocked if she didn't!

  • what he has is a cheating addiction!

  • I'm sick of hearing about it too, and I don't know the entire story (because I've avoided the stories about it and I don't really watch the news)... but weren't there a LOT of other women?  At some point, isn't it more than just a mistake?  At that level, it's got to be a serious problem.  If that's not sex addiction, what is?

    Just playing devil's advocate. :)

  • Frankly I don't see the big deal. What it boils down to is he cheated on his wife and banged into a mailbox or tree or somthing, which, don't get me wrong if the Mr did that he'd be lucky to make it to the car to hit a mailbox after I was done with him. But it's not like he raped some woman and then ran over a kid getting away. Basically yes, what he did was bad and wrong but I don't think it really required 24 hour CNN coverage!

It becomes sex addiction when he builds his life around the need to get a sexual fix. When he skips golf practices to go strip clubs, when he misses family functions to go watch porn, when the day stops until he can "get some"....then it's a sex addiction.  Being morally loose does not equal a sexual addiction.

Completely agree!! Of course what he did was wrong, but he doesn't owe us, as the public, an apology. The only people he should need to apologize to are his wife/family. But (IMO) because of people's hero-worship of celebrities/athletes and looking to them as moral role models, he needs to apologize so he gets his endorsement deals back, and so the circus ensues.
